The Aston DVD seriesThe Aston DVDs were developed by Aston, and award winning American short film producer, Sean Sanzcel to engage, encourage and educate. They are action rather than dialogue based and the dialogue they contain is intentionally not translated or subtitled so that children gain further exposure to English outside the classroom and a chance to “guess” meaning from context and gestures used by characters. This method of learning is supported by modern academic research into childrens learning styles that shows that kids tend to learn something more quickly if they are engaged in or interested in it. This is why the DVDs are designed to grab kids on a basic level and be truly entertaining first and foremost. 阿斯顿影音光碟(DVD)系列阿斯顿影音光碟(DVD)由阿斯顿国际教育集团和美国短篇电影制片人大奖得主Sean Sanzcel联手开发制作,为阿斯顿英语的赏识互动性教育再添亮笔。全影音系列不仅仅局限于对话交流,更全新融入情境互动。影音光碟中的全部对话没有被翻译成汉语或者加入中文字幕,其目的就是为了让孩子能够在正常的课堂之外还能够接触到全方位的纯英语语境,并通过上下文的语境和DVD中人物角色的肢体动作来“猜”出影片所表达的含义来,而这一学习理论也正来自于对儿童学习方式的现代学术调查结果,该调查显示儿童在对某一新事物显示出浓厚兴趣并全情投入时,其学习效率是最高的。这也就是为什么本阿斯顿影音光碟(DVD)系列设计的首要理念就是如何做到寓教于乐,激发孩子学习兴趣。Usage: the key topics in the DVDs are covered over the course of the semester, so some will be new and unstudied: it is, therefore, more important that kids should want to watch them multiple times to laugh or sing along, thereby ingraining grammar patterns, vocabulary items or songs in their heads, rather than parents use the DVDs to test students who have not reached the relevant topics in their semester with Aston.When students watch the DVD , each time no more than 30 mins, when parentsWatch the DVD with their kids, please encourage the students to try to guess the contents of theDVD based on the actors acting and conversations, students doesnt necessarily need to understand every single word in the DVD, but need to learn how to get the gist in the context. The DVD covers the key points in the book, so most of the contents in the DVD are new to a student who just starts the term,parents should be supportive and encouraging to their kids, try not to ask the students to translate the DVD sentence by sentence, it is not learning a language. Parents need toencourage students to keep watching Aston DVDs by doing role play with the students, using the dialogues or conversations in the DVD or let the students use their imaginations to write up different endings to the stories. 使用指导:因为阿斯顿影音光碟(DVD)里面涉及到的重要主题会覆盖整个学期的学习全进程,所以有些主题对学员来讲是全新、还没有学习过的,因此在使用本影音光碟的时候,我们更期望孩子能够反复多次的观看,在跟随DVD里面的剧情、人物欢声高歌的同时,轻轻松松就能把语法句型、词汇歌曲烂熟于胸;而家长们则不要使用本影音光碟来仅仅作为对孩子学习成效的一种检测,因为DVD中的有些主题是孩子在本学期阿斯顿英语学校中还没有涉及到的。学员每次观看时间建议在半小时以内,家长在与学员一起观看时,请家长鼓励孩子通过DVD中的剧情,人物表情与对白来猜测DVD所表达的内容,因为DVD中覆盖了整本书的重点知识,所以相当一部分内容学员在刚开始观看的时候是没有学习过的,家长需多鼓励学员,切勿要求学员对DVD的内容进行逐句翻译,阿斯顿的教学方式是通过情景对话,在不使用汉语的情况下帮助学员理解其中的内容,使学员真正的在纯英文的环境中学习跟使用英文,避免掉翻译的过程,从而达到纯母语教学的目的。随着学员对所在级别的学习的深入加上学员对该级别DVD的反复观看与学习,学员对该DVD得内容也会潜移默化的领会,在不知不觉中提高他们的英文理解能力与表达能力,从而达到一种纯自然,母语式的学习英文的状态。再精彩的DVD,任何人在看完几遍后都会产生厌倦的感觉,请家长不时的鼓励学生,可与学员运用DVD中的人物对白进行角色扮演或让学员创造性的将DVD中的部分剧情进行延续,编写自己的剧情,这样既可以锻炼学员的英文水平,同时可以拓展学员的想象力与创造力。As a general rule, children should not watch TV excessively and should sit at
