Environmental ProtectionDisney Code of Conduct: Manufacturers will comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.Article 33 of the Environmental Protection Law of the Peoples Republic of China: The production, storage, transportation, sale and use of toxic chemicals and articles containing radioactive substances shall be subject to relevant state regulations to prevent environmental pollution.Atmospheric PollutionArticle 28 of the Law of the Peoples Republic of China on Prevention and Treatment of Atmospheric Pollution: Strict restrictions shall be imposed on the emission of exhaust gas and dusts containing toxic substances into the atmosphere. The emission that has to be done should receive purification treatment to reach the mandatory criteria.Article 32 of the Law of the Peoples Republic of China on Prevention and Treatment of Atmospheric Pollution: Those units that emit stinky gas into the atmosphere shall take measures to protect the neighboring residential areas from being polluted.Article 5 of Standard of the Peoples Republic of China for Emission of Atmospheric Pollutants (GB16297-1996): Classification of Emission Rate: The standard for emission of atmospheric pollutants is divided into Class I, II and III. (1) Pollution sources located within category A areas shall be subject to Class I standard (construction of new or expansion of existing pollution sources is prohibited in category A areas. For the renovation of the existing pollution sources in category A areas, Class I standard applicable to existing pollution source shall be enforced); (2) Pollution sources located within category B areas shall be subject to Class II standard; (3) Pollution sources located within category C areas shall be subject to Class III standard. Category A areas include natural reserves, scenic spots and other areas in need of special protection; category B areas include residential quarters, combined commercial, traffic and residential areas, cultural areas, general industrial areas and rural areas as identified in urban planning; category C areas include designated industrial areas.Water PollutionLaw of the Peoples Republic of China on Prevention and Treatment of Water PollutionArticle 29: It is prohibited to discharge oil, acid liquid, alkaline liquid or waste liquid into water.Article 31: It is prohibited to discharge or dump into waters soluble wastes containing mercury, cadmium, arsenic, chromium, lead, cyanide and phosphor, or directly bury them into the earth.Article 32: It is prohibited to discharge or dump into waters industrial wastes, urban rubbish and other scraps.Article 35: It is prohibited to discharge hot waste liquid into waters. Measures should be taken to ensure that the water temperature meets the standard for water environment quality to prevent the harm of hot pollution.Standard of the Peoples Republic of China for Comprehensive Discharge of Wastewater (GB8978-88)Classification of Standard:(1) This Standard is divided into Class I, II and III applicable to the wastewater discharged into ground water and through urban sewage systems according to the functional requirements for the use of ground water and the direction of the wastewater discharged.(1.1) Water areas under special protection refer to Class I and II water areas as dictated in state GB3838-88 Standard for Ground Water Environment, e.g. Class I protection zones of water sources for urban concentrated supply of drinkable water, water body in state-delimited key scenic spots, reserves of rare fish, other water protection areas of special economic and cultural value, water bodies of bathing beaches and aqua farms. In these areas, no new pollutant discharging outlets may be built and existing waste-discharging units shall be put under the strict control of local environmental protection authorities to ensure that the quality of receptor water meets the standard for the quality of the water for the given purpose.(1.2) Water areas under key protection refer to Class III water areas dictated in state GB3838-88 and Class II water areas dictated in the Standard for Sea Water Quality, e.g. Class II protection zones of water sources for urban concentrated supply of drinkable water, general economic fishery water areas and important beauty spots. The wastewater discharged into these areas shall be subject to Class I standard.(1.3) Water areas of general protection refer to Class V water areas dictated in state GB3838-88 and Class III water areas dictated in the Standard for Sea Water Quality, e.g. general water areas for industrial purpose, for scenic spots and for agricultural purpose, port and maritime development operation areas. The wastewater discharged into these areas shall be subject to Class II standard.(1.4) The wastewater discharged into urban sewers and secondary wastewater treatment plants for biological treatment shall be subject to Class III standard.(2) For the wastewater discharged into the sewers of towns without secondary wastewater treatment plants, Class I or II standard shall be implemented in accordance with Articles (1.2) and (1.3) above and in view of the functional requirements of the receptor water at the outlet of the sewers.Pollution by Solid WastesLaw of the Peoples Republic of China on the Prevention and Treatment of Environmental Pollution by Solid WastesArticle 16: The units and individuals collecting, storing, transporting, utilizing and disposing of solid wastes shall take measures to prevent them from being spread, lost or leaked so as to avoid environmental pollution. They shall not throw away or discard solid wastes in the course of transportation.Article 20: It is prohibited to close down, leave unused or dismantle facilities and installations for the prevention and treatment of environmental pollution by industrial solid wastes without authorization. If they indeed have to be closed down, left unused or dismantled, the same shall be approved by the administrative department in charge of environmental protection under the local peoples government at county level or higher level, with measures taken to guard against environmental pollution.Article 29: Those units that create industrial solid wastes should establish and perfect the responsibility system for the prevention and treatment of environmental pollution and take measures to prevent industrial solid wastes from polluting the environment.Article 35: Both units and individuals should comply with the regulations of the administrative departments in charge of environmental sanitation under the urban peoples government and dump and pile up domestic garbage at designated places rather than discard or pile up garbage at will.Article 44: Identification signs of dangerous wastes shall be set up for containers and packing materials of dangerous wastes as well as the facilities and places for the collection, storage, transportation and disposal of dangerous wastes.Article 45: The units that create dangerous wastes shall apply for registration in accordance with relevant state regulations.Article 50: The collection and storage of dangerous wastes shall be classified according to the traits of the dangerous wastes.
