Ask the students to make a yearbook.2. Predict your future.3. Some words and expressions that used in their prediction. Guiding teaching scene(教学情景导入) Hello, students. Look at it. What is it? Its a yearbook. What is its use? Let me tell you. Everyone of you can write your ambition in the yearbook. When you grow up, it is interesting to have a look at it. Teaching steps(教学过程设计)Step 1. First ask the students to talk about their ambitions. And say something about yours.Step 2. Come to “Think About It!” Discuss the first question and ask the students to give their reasons. After listening the tape, please answer the second question.Step 3. Play the audiotape. Have the class follow the audiotape while looking at the text.Step 4. With the following questions, ask the students to read the text silently. T: Why does Li Ming want to be an English teacher? S: T: Where does Li Ming live when he is older? S: T: How many children does Li Ming want to have? S: T: Does Li Ming hope some of his classmates will be his friends when they are older? S: Step 5. Explain the text and remember the language notes.1. prediction 预测,预言weather prediction 天气预报2. ambition 抱负,志向Her ambition was to be a famous singer. 她的理想是成为著名的歌唱家。3.stay 停留stay at home呆在家里stay in somewhere留在某地4.hope 与wish二者都有 “希望” 的意思,宾语都可用不定式,不可用动名词. 二者也有不同之处:(1) hope一般侧重于可能实现的 愿望常译为希望, wish一般侧 重于表达不可能实现的愿望, 常译为但愿.I hope for success.我希望成功. I wish for a plane. 我真想有架飞机.(2)hope 和wish 都可跟that从句, 但hope+that表示希望, wish+that表示但愿,且从句用 虚拟语气,表示一种不可能实现的愿望.I hope that they can come to see Me. 我希望他们会来看我.I wish that I was a bird.但愿我是一只小鸟.(3) 在简短答语中,so, not 可以和hope 连用,wish不能. I hope so.我希望如此.Language Notes:1. My ambition is to be an English teacher. 我的抱负是做一名英语教师.to be an English teacher为不定式短语,用在系动词be之后作表语.His wish is to work in a foreign company. 他的愿望是在一家外企工作.2. I hope to be a good teacher, like Ms.Liu. 我希望做一名像刘老师那样的好教师.hope to do sth.表示希望做某事.I hope to pass the exam.我希望可以通过考试.达标测评I. 单项选择1. Do you still have any work_? A. do B. did C. to do D. doing2. Every group should now have a list of predictions from another group. One student from each group can read the predictions aloud, or students can take turns reading predictions one by one. Every group will then discuss whether they agree with the predictions. When they write their predictions, here is a list of useful words.
