Unit 2 Ill help to clean up the city park.Section A 1 (1a-2d) 教案一、教学目标: 1. 语言知识目标:1) 能掌握以下单词: clean up, city, cheer, cheer up, give out, volunteer, notice, used to, lonely, 能掌握以下句型: You could help to clean up the city parks. We should listen to them and care for them.2) 能了解以下语法: 情态动词could, should的用法;用should或could提出建议并对别人的建议作出评价。如何表达主动提供帮助。2. 情感态度价值观目标: 在授课过程中渗透助人就是助己,助人收获快乐的情感目标,使学生在谈论如何为别人提供帮助的对话中能意识到尽己所能,帮助他人,乐于奉献是一种良好的品德,培养学生为他人着想,热爱公益事业,乐于助人的优良品质。截止八年级下学期,学生们已经进入初中系统学习英语一年半了,他们有了一定的英语基础,了解句子一般结构。对于情态动词的使用也有所了解。八年级的学生乐于参加集体活动,愿意承担一些志愿者活动。二、教学重难点1. 教学重点:1) 掌握这些短语动词的构成和用法:clean up, city, cheer, cheer up, give out, volunteer, notice, used to, lonely 2) 学会提供帮助的基本句型:Id like to work outside.Ill help clean the city park.You could give out food at a food bank. 3)听、说、读、写、总结归纳的综合训练。2. 教学难点:学会提供帮助的基本句型三、教学方法由浅入深,由易到难,由已知到未知,从学生熟悉的好人好事入手,调动他们的学习积极性,扣住他们的心弦,让他们在心情愉快、兴趣浓厚的氛围中展开一系列听说读写的训练,主动地投入到学习中去,自然地掌握本堂课的重点、难点;循序渐进地深化教学内容,同时以训练学生听说为主,展开以老师为主导,以学生为主体的师生双边互动活动。四、教学过程Step 1 Warming up and leading in1、抛出问题:生命中最重要的是什么?通过学生讨论导入到本课话题。2、用brainstorm的游戏让学生回忆起相关好人好事的词汇和句型,引入怎样帮助他人的话题。通过询问他们以下问题来引导学生们了解社会上一些的志愿们进行的活动。T: Who are they?S:Theyre volunteers. They usually volunteer to help others. T: How could we help people?S1: We could clean up the parksS2: We could help sick people in the hospital.S3: We could help plant trees. Step 2 New words1. city n. 城市 2. notice n. 公告牌;通告;布告3. sign n. 标志;信号4. volunteer v. 义务劳动,自愿做 5. clean up 打扫;清除6. give out 分发;散发7. cheer v. 欢呼; 喝彩 8. lonely adj. 孤独的;寂寞的9. used to 曾经, 过去 Step 3 Discussion and presentation1. 1a. Look at the ways you could help others. Then list other ways.2. Ss discuss with their partners and write the ways one could help others: Help to plant trees by the river. Help to clean up the city park. Visit the old people in the old peoples home. Help young kids to learn English. Step 4 Listening and pairwork1. T: Tell Ss to read the sentences in the chart. Make sure they know the meaning of the sentences. 2. 1b. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the ways the boy and girl could help others. _ The girl could visit the sick kids in the hospital to cheer them up. _ The boy could give out food at the food bank. _ The girl could volunteer in an after-school study program to teach kids._ The boy could help to clean up the city parks. (Key: 3, 2, 4, 1)3. Let Ss read the conversation in the picture. 4. 1c. Use the information in the chart of 1b to make other conversations. A: I hope to work outside. B: You could help to clean up the city parks. 5. Let some pairs act out their conversations. 6. 2a: T: A group of students are planning a City Park Clean-up Day. Listen and check () the things they are going to do to tell people about it. 1. Look at the pictures in 2a. Discuss the things they are going to do. 2. He also helped build schools and hospitals. So we can say he is a volunteer. He always volunteers to help others. Follow me. He is a real superstar .What can we learn from him ?Step 2 Presentation and practiceLearn to help. How could we help others? Be a volunteer. Volunteering is great. What could you do as a volunteer? Lead in the new words. Look at the boy. Whats wrong with him? He is sick in hospital. How does he feel? What could you do to help sick kids? Lead in other new words in the same way. Read the new words and phrases together. Im happy you like helping others. Here some students also want to help others. What could they do? Look at 1b. Listen and number. Who can? Well done. Listen and repeat. Then play a listening game. Listen and answer quickly. The purpose is to develop the skills of memorizing detail information .Check the answer. Ask them to come up with other ways to help people. Brainstorm. Work in pairs. Ask two pairs to act it out.Step 3 While listeningThere are many kinds of volunteer work we could do to help others. If we want to help more people, we could join some volunteer clubs or organizations to get more chances. Here are some of their activities. Which one do you like best? Ask the students to show their opinions freely. There is a city park near our school. Would you like to go there to clean it up? Lets go. Dont put off cleaning it up. How could we ask more people to be volunteers like us? Show pictures to present the new words. Pave the way for the listening materials below. What is this ? Why not put an ad on TV? Whats in their hands? We could make some notices and hand them out. What are these ? Lets put up signs. Whats he doing? Call up more people and ask them to come. Read the new phrasal verbs to evaluate what they have learnt. Several activities to fulfill. Firstly, listen and check the things. Secondly listen again and fill in the blanks. Read the dialogue in pairs and give them some more time to read by themselves. Then try to retell the passage. Praise them again for their great job.Step 4 After listeningIn our class, do you often go to the old peoples home ,the childrens home or the park to be volunteers in groups? You are so kind. Here is a video about some volunteers from our class. Do you want to know what they do on Sundays? Please watch and listen carefully. Then discuss.
