Gone with the Wind is a American novel written by Margaret Mitchell sets in the Old South during the American Civil War and Reconstruction in 1936. The novel won the Pulitzer Prize in 1937and was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film of the same name in 1939. There is also a new musical stage adaptation in Londons West End titled Gone With The Wind in 2008 . It is the only novel written by Mitchell published during her lifetime, and it took her ten years to write it. The novel is one of the most popular books of all time, sold more than 30 million copies. Over the years, the novel has also been analyzed for its symbolism and treatment of mythological archetypes. Scarlett was the daughter of a planter Gerald in Tara South America. She was not very beautiful, but very charm, vigorous and had a high-spirit. She loved Ashley Wilkes to distraction. She was heart-broken by the news that Ashley would engage with his cousin Melanie Wilkes, then she decided in hastily to merry Melanies brother Charles as Ashleys sister India who was in love with Charles. Several months after their marriages, the Revolutionary War broken out and Charles and Ashley both registered as a cavalry for South. And Scarlett and Melanie lived in Atlanta with Melanies aunt Pitty. After the news of Charles death, Scarlett with her son and pregnant Melanie fled back to Tara only got to know that Scarletts mother Ellen had died and her father Gerald hadnt be himself any more. In order to raise the whole family, Scarlett decided to back to Atlanta to merry Rhett Butler, an ill-named speculator. But by accident, Scarlett finally married Frank Kennedy, the beau of her younger sister Suellen and bore a daughter Ella with him. Frank was murdered in one of a trap and then Scarlett married Rhett Butler and had one daughter Bonnie, died in an horse accident. At the end of the story, Melanie died of miscarriage. Upon that time did Ashley found he was in love with Melanie not Scarlett and Scarlett also found the one she loved was Rhett. But when she backed home, Rhett told her his love for her was drained and he decided to leave Atlanta. Scarlett didnt give up and she said to herself “After all, tomorrow is another day.” Scarlett , a very personality figures ，the two men she loved,none did she know about.To her, I was compelled to admire, admire her strength and brave, admire her to lay down in the environment, farm workers previously suffered education, admire her disregarding the community to create her own expression of the cause .She is in the whole story, all a person full of fighting will full of vitality . whatI appreciated most is that Tomorrow is another day of hers. . Promising forever, full of fighting will , will never give up, never desperate. I think Im moved by her.So, whenever I face with difficulty, the mood is not good, I will tell myself : Tomorrow is another day. Gone with the Wind is absolutely a good book which is worth sampling repeatedly, the characters are graceful , the plot rises and falls, exciting boldly and unconstrainedly, though the subjective factor because of the author among them , the appraisal on American Civil War is not objective and comprhensive, but as to angle of literature, this one fine piece of writing generation definitely absolutely, worth visiting. Characters in the story were so vivid as if they had been going to jump out of the story, as if they had been existed in the real life at first. It was a tragedy,Just as its name suggested, everything was gone with the wind, including families touch, friends support, sweethearts gaze and youth with vigour. The story reminds us of valuing all we were possessing. A life lasts for a short time and anything in it lasts shorter. We always lose something unconsciously and then feel regretful when we need them later. The most attractiveplaceof the novel is Scarletts personality and her love story. Her love is not full of poetic and romantic one, but the reality and utilitarian. In order to achieve the gole, she did not hesitate to use ignoble and cunning trick.Why the
