What animal can help the disabled people for long time?(a guide dog /a special trained dog ) ( It comes from Animal Helpers-a group was set up to help disabled people)(at the same time, learn the new words: imagine, disabled, difficulties, normal, kindness, difference, train, set up )3. watch a video: What can a guide dog do?Step 2 work on 2a. 1. T: Imagine you are a disabled person. You get great help from the guide dog , what ways will you use to thank it ?2. students answer. Step 3 Work on 2b. 1. Imagine and read:Ben Smith gets great help from the guide dog. He wrote a thank-you letter. Imagine you are Ben Smith. Read and answer: 1). Whats wrong with you? 2). Who did you write to ? Use information in the letter to make true sentences by matching the different parts.2). Read the four sentences.2. imagine and write.T: Ben is lucky. He gets help from his friend, Miss Li, Animal Helpers and Lucky. What will his life be like in future? Lets imagine what will happen among him ,his friend, Animal Helpers, Miss Li .will they be happy? Will they help other disabled people? You can learn much language from Bens letter. Step5 Work on Self Check 1: 1. Fill in each blank with a possible verb to make a phrasal verb. 2. Fill in the blanks and try to say the meaning of it. 3. Make a new sentence with each phrase. Step 6 work on Self check 2 1. Tell Ss to read the short passage and fill in the blanks with the appropriate phrasal verbs or infinitives. 2. Tell Ss should try to read the short article first and try to know the main meaning. Then read carefully and try to understand the meaning of each blanks. 3. Ss work and by themselves and try to fill in the blanks. 4. Check the answers with the class.
