What can we learn from the information given by the writer.学习准备Learn the new words before the class.学习过程设计Step 1 Lead-in Show pictures of animals and ask students if they like pandas and explain the reason. Then, show them a short video about pandas.Step 2 Answer questions according to the video.Step 3 Reading 1. Pre-readingTalk about panda in class. Use these words to help you.big, bamboo, zoo, popular, cute, black and white, famous, endangered, beautiful, forest, protect2. While-reading A. Fast-reading 1) Scan the article to find out what these numbers mean.(Scan means moving your eyes quickly down the page to find specific information) 10, 12, 300, 2000 2) Skim the article to find out the main idea of each paragragh.(Skim means looking quickly to find the main idea without reading every word. It is still a good idea to read the first sentence in each paragraph a little more carefully.) B. Carefulreading 1) Scan the article again and write short answers to the questions. 1. What do the baby pandas have for breakfast? 2. How do the baby pandas feel when they see panda keepers? How do you know? 3. What does Lin Wei do for pandas every day? 4. Does Lin Wei like pandas? How do you know? 2) Why pandas are endangered? Find out the reasons from pandas, baby pandas and humans. 3) How to save the pandas? Find out the answers from an education program in Chengdu, The Chinese government and scientists. 3. Post-reading 1) Discussion: What other ways do you think we can help to save the pandas? 2) finish the proposal.
