Unit3 Lets learn and chant 张释月Teaching Aims:Knowledge aim: Students can listen, read and write the new words: cool, cold, hot, warm, weather.Ability aim: Students can introduce the weather in different places by using the function sentence: Its in Emotional aim: Students can enjoy the study of different weather in different places.Important point: Students can master the pronunciation and the meaning of the new words and can master the usage of the sentence.Difficult point: Students can introduce the weather when given a map of the weather freely and correctly.Teaching Methods: task based teaching method (任务型教学法), Audio-lingual approach (听说法),total physical response(全身反应法)Situational teaching method(情景教学法)Teaching Aids: pictures, tape recorder, PPT.Teaching Procedures:Step one : warming upSet a situation: Its warm today.( look out the window) So we wear T-shirts. Tomorrow I want to go to Beijing. Whats the weather like in Beijing? Lets watch a weather report.( play the flash of A lets learn)Step two: presentation and practiceAfter they watched it and tell them: This is weather report. Write it down on the blackboard, then read the word and ask the students read after me.Play the flash the second time. Ask them think a question: how many cities are there in the weather report? Let them give the answer then write the words on the blackboard and teach.Play the third time. Ask them to answer the question: Whats the weather like in Beijing? Can you tell me ? Then write the new words down on the blackboard,ask them review the pronunciation and the meaning of each word. (cool, cold, warm, hot)I will play the game and let them say the Chinese meaning when I give them English word. And let them spell the word when I give them Chinese word.The teacher should write the answer during the students answer the question. Its warm in Beijing. And the structure : Its inAsk them the weather of other places. Whats the weather in Shanghai?And ask them guess.Then ask them another question: Is it hot in Hong Kong?After the students give the answer: Yes, its hot in Hong Kong. The teacher should write it down on the blackboard.Step three: consolidation and expandActivity one: recognize and read the word cardsThe teacher shows the word cards, let the student recognize the Chinese meaning from the first students who hand their hands quickly to the last one in the same row.Activity two: guessing gameAsk one volunteer come to the front and do the action and the others should guess the meaning of the new words. They also should read it loudly and write it down quickly on their exercise book. Then make a sentence by using the new structure: Whats the weather like in ? Its in Activity three: Weather reportThe teacher shows a map of different weather in different city. And let someone come to the front then report the weather.The others also can ask the weather, the weather reporter should answer the question by using the new structure.Step four: summary and homeworkSummary: Ask the student close their eyes; think the new words and the new sentences of this lesson.
