2 With the rapid development of China s automotive industry the demand of China s automotive interiors makers for artificial leather and synthetic leather grows rapidly Especially in 2009 the de mand for automobile decoration leather in China reached 180 mil lion meters up 44 year on year Because China s macro economy is still in a relatively steady growth period and is little affected by the leather that is easily embrittled and not very tough the growth rate of the demand for luggage bag leather is lower than the growth rate of the luggage industry and is narrowing In 2008 and 2009 the annual growth rate of the demand for luggage bag leather was 5 96 and 2 44 respectively well below the annual growth rate of the luggage industry 10 50 in 2009 But with the application of eco func tional synthetic leather the advantages of synthetic leather will be fully displayed This will boost the demand of the luggage indus try for artificial leather and synthetic leather It is expected certification among which Anhui Anli Artificial Leather Co Ltd and Shanghai Huafeng Microfiber and New Materials Co Ltd are the only two companies who have passed the both two certifications The application of eco functional synthetic leather can ease the serious pollution of China s tanning industry and ensure China made shoes furniture and garments to meet the environmental requirements of
