Earlier this year, it completed the acquisition of Chevrons 40% stakes in these two licences in shallow waters off Bayelsa State.NNPC holds a 60% interest in both OMLs. OML 83 hosts the Anyala discovery, while Madu is the main discovery in OML 85.In total, the two fields hold potential recoverable hydrocarbons of 340 million barrels of oil equivalent.Oil production, initially from Anyala, is expected to reach 50,000 barrels per day with gas supplied to the domestic market.
