(to) do sth. “帮助某人做某事”。2)the same.as.是一个固定句式,the same修饰一个名词,或本身就是先行词时,后面的是关系代词as引导的_,as在从句中作_。eg: You are the same person as I want to work with.2.The time when I first met Nelson Mandela was a very difficult period of my life.第一次见到纳尔逊曼德拉的时候,是我一生中非常艰难的时期。剖析:The time 作句子的_,when I first met Nelson Mandela作为_,修饰time。was是系动词;period作句子的_。课文后面还有一个同样结构的句子:The day when Nelson Mandela helped me was one of the my happiest _ _ _ _这句话的结构呢?This was a time when one had got to have a passbook to live in Johannesburg.3.The last thirty years have seen the greatest number of laws stopping our rights and progress, until today we have reached a stage where we have almost no rights at all._.剖析:see在此句意为“见证,目睹”;(在某段时期)发生(某情况),经历,经受; 为某事发生之时,此句的主语为时间 eg: The last few months has seen more and more traffic accidents. 某些动词(see, find, witness等)主语有时不是人而是物, 即拟人用法, 使句子生动。1) Dusk (黄昏) found a boy crying in the street.2) Oct 1,1949, saw/ witnessed the foundation of the Peoples Republic of China.4. .we were put into a position in which we had either to accept we were less important, or fight the government.我们被置于这样一个境地:要么我们被迫接受低人一等的现实,要么跟政府作斗争。剖析:1) in which.部分是一个带介词的_从句修饰前面的名词_。in which也可换为_。eg: Can you think of a position in which the word can be used?2) either.or.“要么要么”;“或者或者,”连接两个并列谓语。5.Only then did we decide to answer violence with violence.【剖析】.only副词/介词短语/状语从句置于句首,主句用部分倒装形式 (即把主句的_提到主语前面)eg: Only then did I realize the importance of learning English.Only in this way can you solve the problem.Only when the teacher came in, did the students stop shouting.注意(1)如果句子为主从复合句,则主句部分倒装,从句不倒装。 (2)only修饰主语时,不用倒装。 eg: Only her mother can help her to solve the problem.单项填空I failed in the final examination last term and only then_ the importance of studies.A.I realized B.I had realized C.had I realized D.did I realize6.
