There are only about 3,000 elephants (over 100,000 before). 3)通过阅读训练来让学生们逐步提高英语阅读能力。2. 情感态度价值观目标:没有买卖就没有杀戮。动物和人类共同生活在地球上,动物是我们的朋友。保护动物, 就是保护地球,保护人类自己!二、教学重难点1. 教学重点: 通过阅读短文来了解世界各地一些其他动物的情况,让学生们眼界更宽阔, 明白动物对地球的重要性,从而善待动物。2. 教学难点 进行阅读训练,来培养学生们的综合阅读能力。 三、教学过程1.Lead-in Show some pictures about the animals.let Ss answer “What animal do you like?and why?”(lions 、elephants、pandas、giraffes. Ss can use some adjective words to describe these animals. Eg: smart、 friendly、 beautiful、 cute .)2. Free talk Show a picture of an elephant. Let Ss talk about it.(eg:What can they do?Where do they live? Why do you like them? )and tell Ss the elephants are in great danger now.Then let Ss discuss why the elephants are in danger.(at the same time ,present some new words eg: forget 、 get lost、 place、 water、 cut down 、tree、 kill、 ivory.) 3. Fast reading T:Now today we will learn some information about the elephants in Thailand .So please read the passage on P29 as fast as you can and check the best title for it.a.What Is an Elephant?b.Come to Thailandc.Lets Save the Elephantsd.Elephants Are Good Pets4. Careful reading Fact and figures.people many trees .people kill them for .today there are (over before) T: Now read the passage again and find some detail information about the elephants 。Look at the map in 2c,There are four boxes around the word Elephants. The first box is about the importance of the elephants in Thailand. The second box is about the abilities of the elephants. The third box is about the facts and figures of the elephants. The last box is about how to save the elephants. after reading ,please complete the blanks.Then check the answers with the Ss.Importance in Thailand.first flag had .symbol of ELEPHANTS How to save them.dont cut down so many .dont things made of ivory . is Thai Elephant DayAbilities.can play .can also .can places with food and water 5. Retell Let Ss read it again and again then according to the information in 2c retell the passage in groups ,and then let one of them speak it out in class.6.Homework 1.
