When she is a little child, her mother dies and she is spoiled by her father. Having such a background, Emma is dominant, aggressive and imaginative. After she experiences the two major affairs in her life-the relationship with Harriet and her emotion towards Mr. Knightley, she realizes her own faults and acquires self-knowledge of both moral faults and emotion. After Emma fails to be a match-maker of Harriet and Mr. Knightley, she comes to know that feelings can not be imagined and that she should not force her own idea on others mind. And this is the very beginning of Emmas self-knowledge.Emmas self-knowledge of both emotion and moral faults deepens as she gradually realizes her emotion towards Mr. Knightley. Mr. Knightley has *ual attraction for Emma and he also set a moral model for Emma, but Emma does not realize this kind of feeling. When Harriet tells Emma that she loves Mr. Knightley, Emma suddenly know how much she loves Mr. Knightley and at the same time she completely realizes her moral faults.(空1行)Key words: Emma; characters; match-making; self-knowledge(五)论文正文1论文分章节,每章应单独起页,章标题加粗,小三号,居中对齐。 Chapter One IntroductionReading is a process of thinking, understanding and accepting information actively. It is the main method of mastering language knowledge, laying the foundation of knowledge and gaining the information.According to the syllabus for senior middle school English:.Chapter Two Senior Middle School Students English Reading Ability Although new teaching materials are being used in senior middle school and students are encouraged to develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities, the common teaching model is used in English class. It is that teachers explain and students listen. Mostly, teachers omit the listening and2.1 From transmission model to interactive model2.2 From language knowledges impartation to reading skills impartation 2.2.1 The Definition of language knowledge impartationChapter Five ConclusionStudents intensive reading and extensive reading are discussed in this paper. Although they are two different kinds of reading, we cannot separate them thoroughly. They are one plays into another. Both of them run through English teaching in senior middle school. It has been argued that teachers role is to provide the students with optimal conditions which can facilitate learning so that students can achieve similar successful results (Bloom, 1936: 12-16).Language is “a tool for communication”. (胡, 1987: 23)Gagne (1978: 38-41) also noticed that adult learners were less affected by external instruction events. The advantage of the multiple regression analysis is that it cannot show the complex interrelations between independent variables (Bryman and Crammer,1978:135-139).Studies of the good language learner (for example, Naiman et al. 49-52) have tried to identify the strategies which successful learners use (Ellis,1989:37).Naiman et al. (49-52) found a similar relationship, although in this case effort on the part of the learners was also associated with instrumental motivation (Ellis,1993:512).(2)同一括号里多件作品的引用:Empirical studies on student learning carried out since the 70s have found that students learning outcomes to a great extent depend on their choice of learning approaches (Biggs, Empirical studies; Learning strategies).(注意:这里的下划线表示作者的两篇不同作品,我们现在统一用斜体代替下划线)The major finding from the earlier studies (Barley; Clement et al.; Gardner & Lambert; Gliksman; Spolsky) was that learners with an integrative motivation tended to obtain better achievement that those with an instrumental motivation.(注意引用作品的排序)In The Age of Voltaire, the Durants portray eighteenth century England as a minor force in the world of music and art (1986:214-48).(注意:文内已出现作者名,括号里就只要年代加页码)P. C. Shelley thought poets “the unacknowledged legislators of the world.” (1987: 23) “Poets,” according to Shelley, “are the unacknowledged legislators of the world.” P. C. Shelley once wrote in a book that poets were the unauthorized law-makers of the world. (1989:147) 7. In the 1950s, for example, while Ellington was still alive, Raymond Horricks compared him with Ravel, Delius, and Debussy:(空一行)The continually enquiring mind of Ellingtonhas sought to extend steadily the imaginative boundaries of the musical form on which it subsists. Ellington since the mid-1930s has been engaged upon extending both the imagery and the formal construction of written jazz. (189) (空一行)Ellingtons earliest attempt to move beyond the three-minute limit recieved . Figures in literature are either flat characters (one dimensional figures, figures with simple personalities) or round characters (complex figures). The characters described in the first chapter of The Great Gatsby can well be regarded as flat:(空一行)I never saw this great-uncle, but Im supposed to look like him-with special reference to the rather hard-boiled painting that hangs in fathers office. I graduated from New Haven in 1915, just a quarter of a century after my father, and a little later I participated in that delayed Teutonic migration known as the Great War. (Ellis, 98)(空一行)However, F. Scott Fitzgerald succeeds in changing these flat figures into round ones through his master-hand writing skills and in-depth characterization. 例子如下:Acknowledgements(空一行) My deep gratitude goes to Mr Hu Zhuanglin, my supervisor, who has guided me through the various stages of writing this thesis, from whose valuable advice and critical comments, I have benefited a great deal. It is his painstaking efforts in correcting the errors to my drafts and polishing my paper that have put the finishing touches to the present paper.I am also greatly indebted to all my teachers during my university studies, whose scholarship has profoundly impressed me, and who have academically prepared me for this project and future research. My heart-felt thanks should also be extended to all my friends, who have given me warm-hearted help.(七)参考文献或参考书目1本科毕业论文的参考文献数目不得少于10本(部、篇)。 Auden, Wasen H. “The Shield of Achilles.” The Riverside Anthology of Literature.
