To learn the common names of natural disasters.2. To help students to know different kinds of weather and disasters.3. To arouse the students interest in natural disasters.【能力目标】To use knowledge presented in written text to infer general meaning and context.【情感目标】利用多种游戏或活动形式培养学生对英语学习的浓厚兴趣。 教学重难点【教学重点】To arouse the students interest in natural disasters.【教学难点】通过阅读活动,引导学生通过阅读抓住关键信息,了解故事大意,通过角色扮演,让学生巩固和运用本单元所学核心词汇和句型。 课前准备Tape recorder, Multimedia. 教学过程Step 1. Lead-inFree talk (Show a picture with rainy weather)1. Get students to talk about what happens in the picture.For example: Whats the weather like? How is the weather? Is the rain heavy?2. Review the words about the weather.Step 2. Listen and readListen to the tape and find the answers to the following questions.1. Introduction: Hobo has some trouble. What has happened to him? Lets have a look.2. Students read comic strip.Whats the weather like?What happened to Hobo?What was bob doing when it started to rain?When did Hobo hear the rain?What happened to Hobos house?Why doesnt he want to go home?3. Repeat the dialogue after the tape.4. Have difficulties to explain.Step 3. Presentation1. Introduction: Rainy days and fine days are very common, (ask students: What other kind of weather do they know?2. Discussion.3. Check (Students can say it in Chinese). At the same time, teach the new words about the bad weather sometimes cause disasters.Teach: disaster and we call them natural disasters.Step 4. Practice1. Finish the exercises in Part A.2.
