However, is daily homework necessary to students? Why do teachers assign homework to students every day? Here are the advantages and disadvantages.There is no doubt that daily homework does have several advantages. First, students in primary school or junior high school may not have independent learning skills; they need assignments as a guide so as to focus on their study. Second, daily homework is a demonstration; it shows the students how to learn the lesson and helps the students to understand the key points of the lesson. Due to these advantages, many teachers assign homework to students every day.However, daily homework also has some disadvantages. First, senior high school students and college students are old enough to learn independent learning skills, but daily homework is a restriction to them, students just depend on their homework to learn the lesson; in other words, they depend on their teachers and dont know how to make their own study plans. Second, students dont have too much time to develop their interests. For example, if they need to spend most of their time to finish their homework, then they dont have time to learn how to dance, sing or paint. Besides, they dont have time to learn basic skills like cooking or sewing. The last and the most important one is that to primary school and junior high school students, they should have more time to play rather than finish their daily homework; to senior high school and college students, daily homework is a burden that impedes students to join a club or meet new friends.In my opinion, students dont need to do daily homework at all. I dont mean they dont need to do any homework, but daily homework is not necessary as far as I am concerned. I think the best choice is that teachers assign homework to students once a week, and also some group activities, so students can train their learning skills and develop their interests at the same time. On the contrary, if teachers assign too much homework to students, it may cause negative effects. For example, students may be tired of study if they are assigned a lot of homework every day.
