Situation 1: an email from my friend. 【show the content of the email and get the students to know what happened to my friend】 Step2 Free talk: T: What do you think the “true situation” means in the email and what causes it?Let Ss talk about these questions. Step 3 ：Input 1 read the first paragraph to get the some information。Ss need to find out two questions1) what is “Virus”2) how does “HIV virus” work in humans body?2. after the students come to know the process HIV virus works in our body, teach them the relationship between HIV virus and AIDS. Besides, come to know the full name of AIDS:Acquired Immune Deficiency SyndromeStep 4 ：free talk Trigger the knowledge students have about AIDS1. Free talk: how much you know about AIDS.2. An activity: some statements about AIDS among , check whether the students have these misconception or not. Step 5：reading1. Find out how many spreading ways HIV virus has and what are they. Three spread ways: Unprotected sexual contact Direct blood contactMother to kid 2. Now that we have found out the causes, try to think of some effective preventions 1) let students express their own thoughts2) Read the third to fifth paragraph and catch the preventions. Use a condomDo not share anything else, that a person has used while injecting drugs, like needles.A pregnant mother can try to take the anti-HIV drug AZT during her pregnancy.Step 6After learning AIDS scientifically, go back to check whether the students former judgments are correct or not and explain specifically about the question “whether mosquitoes can carry HIV virus”.Step7 1) A graph shows the increasing trend of HIV carriers who have taken up a larger group of the society. HIV病毒有什么传播方式呢？l 4). 我们能该怎么预防HIV病毒呢？l 5). 我们该怎么样对待艾滋病患者？2. retell what we have learnt One student summarizes what he has learnt according to the answers to the five questions above. 老师设计一个情境，一个携有HIV 病毒的朋友在工作上遭遇到困难。学生读邮件， 自己了解其情况和总结为什么。引出主题，HIV 病毒该例子为本节课的后部分“如何对待艾滋病患者”做好铺垫。将a HIV carrier, get infected 等表达放在该情境中学习。 学生采用快速阅读的方法浏览第一段，划出该问题的信息点，然后将信息点整合成自己的语言，表达出来。老师适当给予提示，包括语言的组织能力及语音问题。 将新词汇 cell/immune system 置于该情境中学习。2）老师给出一些介绍语，让学生明白HIV是一种病毒，逐渐会转变成艾滋病。艾滋病的全称：获得性免疫缺陷综合征艾滋病1） 让学生自由发言，唤起学生对艾滋病原有的理解，看看学生的了解程度及有没有存在一些错误的观点。 将新词汇incurable 融入该部分中，2) 活动： 让6个学生选择数字和判定句子是否正确。老师可以了解学生对于艾滋病的了解有多少。1） 引导学生快速阅读第二段材料，通过找关键词汇科学地了解艾滋病病毒的三种传播方式。2） 让学生科学地思考问题，找出原因，接着则得想出对应的预防方法。首先让学生根据原因，自由地表达其想法。接着阅读材料中第三段到第五段，找出科学有效的预防方法。将新词汇condom, get injection, needle pregnancy融于该部分学习。回去学生之前在活动中判断的句子，在科学地学完艾滋病后，比较一下。特别强调一下“蚊子能否传播艾滋病”该问题。纠正学生的错误想法。老师展示一个图标，说明即使知道预防方法，中国现在的艾滋病患者快速上升的趋势。让学生综合warming up中的那一份邮件，想象这群人现在在社会上是出于什么样的情景。随着社会的发展，越来越强调 人权主义。 艾滋病日的创建正是体现了这一观点。老师呼吁学生关爱身边每一艾滋病患者。老师和学生都许下诺言，关爱身边每一人。最后老师总结：对于每个人： 更多的理解，关心和爱。此环节， 将2011年高考口语考试的题型中的第二部分“角色扮演”和第三部分“复述”环节融入，且将本节课学到的新单词短语和信息点整合，让学生准确用英语表达关于艾滋病话题。板书设计 HIV Virus/ AIDS Causes: PreventionsA
