To improve students reading abilities .【教学难点】1.How to use the useful and important words and phrases.2.How to get the general idea in a limited time . 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程Step 1 Lead in a) T: Did you hear about World War I, World War II or Vietnam War?Introduce students the three wars.Show them some pictures.b) Students work in pairs , doing the quiz on Students Book page 102.c) Checking their answers, have them give reasons for their choice if they disagree about any of the answers.Step 2 .Reading1. Decide if the War Facts below refer to:a)World War I(1914-1918)b)World War II(1939-1945)c) The Vietnam War (1954-75)1).The USA ended the war in the Far East by dropping two atomic bombs on Japan.2).The main countries involved were: Britain, France and Russia against Germany, Austria, Hungary and Poland.3).The war began when Germany invaded Poland.4).The main countries involved were: Britain, Russia and the USA against Germany, Italy and Japan.5).
