Lesson 41 mainly talks about Danny and Steven fight again, Jennys advice for them. Deal with their misunderstanding. 教学目标【知识目标】1. To master the words: silence, silent, elder, directly.2. To master the phrases: keep silent, agreed on, mean to, after all.【能力目标】Improve the students ability of speaking, listening, reading and writing. How to deal with the misunderstanding and fighting.【情感目标】To learn how to give suggestions and advice to stop fighting.【教学重点】To master the words and phrases.【教学难点】To know about how to deal with the misunderstanding. 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程Step 1. Warm-up1. Enjoy a picture about fighting, and elicit the phrase “get into a fight”.2. Free talk: (1) What do you do when your friends misunderstand you?(2) When you get into a fight with a friend, which of you usually says sorry first?Step 2. Presentation1. Show the pictures of Jennys advice and ask students: Who are they? What happened?2. Explain the new words.3. Listen to the dialogue and answer the questions. (1) Is Danny free on Saturday afternoon?(2) Who else does Jenny invite?(3) Why does Jenny invite them?4. Check the answers.5. Explain the language points:agree to do“应允,愿意”。She agreed to study with him.她答应和他一起学习。agree with sb.“同意某人的意见”。 Im agreeing with you, but I may change my mind later.我同意你的意见,但是以后我也许会改变看法。I agree with your mind.我同意你的想法。The story agrees with the facts.报道与事实相符。This job agrees with her.这份工作适合她。agree to “同意(计划、提议等)”。They agree to my design. 他们同意我的设计。agree on / about“商定;达成协议”。Im excited you can agree on something.我很兴奋你们能达成协议。Everyone else agreed on the new rules.其他人都同意新的制度。Have you agreed about the price?你们谈好了价钱没有?agree后可接that引导的宾语从句,that有时可省略,意为“同意;一致认为”。e.g. They agree (that) the movie is so funny.他们一致认为这部电影是非常有趣的。either和neither均可用作代词或副词等。(1) 用作代词两者都可作句子的主语、宾语或定语等成分。either意为“两个中的任何一个”;neither意为“两个中没有一个”。这两个词作主语时,谓语动词一般需用单数形式。 Either of the plans works well. 这两个计划中的任何一个效果者都很好。 Neither of the dictionaries is useless. 这两本字典没有一本有用。 There are two pens. You can take either. 有两个钢笔。你可以在其中挑一个。 If you are naughty, you will finish neither. 如果你不听话,你的任务不会完成。 (2) 用作副词either“也”,用于否定句句末。e.g. Tom doesnt like math and I dont like it either. 汤姆不喜欢数学,我也不喜欢。neither“也不”,用来接别人的话。e. g. I dont like English. Neither do I. 我不喜欢了英语。 我也不喜欢。(3) either可与or连用,构成并列连词either . or .,意为“或者或者”; neither可与nor连用,构成并列连词neither . nor .,意为“既不也不;和两个都不”。二者连接并列成分作主语时,谓语动词需与邻近的主语在人称和数上保持一致。Either my daughter or my son is going to Shanghai next month.或者我的女儿或者是我的儿子下个月要去上海。Neither this dress nor that one fits me.这两件裙子都不适合我。stop doing sth.“停止做某事(停止正在做的事情)”,而stop to do sth.“停下来去做某事(停止正在做的事情去做另一件事情) Shall we stop singing like that?我们别这样唱歌了好吗?You have written more than three hundred words. Please stop to take a rest.你已经写了300多个单词了,请停下来休息一下吧。elder是形容词,与the连用相当于名字。the elder可用于区别两个同名的名人,意思是“老;大”the elders的意思是“老年人;长者;年龄较大的人”。She heard of the Elder Peter.她听说过老彼待。We all should respect the elders.我们都应该尊敬老人。mean to do sth.“意欲(打算)做某事”;mean doing sth.“意味着做某事”。Step 3. Practice1. Listen and follow to the tape.2.
