The goal of this topic is to help students to talk about and give opinions of films 教学目标【知识与能力目标】1.To read sections of a story and sequence , then use prediction strategies and linking words. 2.To use linking expressions related to time and sequencing.3.To use word building techniques to form nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.4.To talk about and give opinions of films.5.To practice using the second conditional for speculation.【过程与方法目标】Help students to use linking expressions related to time and sequencing.【情感态度价值观目标】To make the students the real masters in class and develop the students awareness of self-learning. 教学重难点【教学重点】Learn to make use of non-text information to help understand the text. 【教学难点】To use word building techniques to form nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程. Warming up 1.Have you seen any other films about the sea? Have you seen any other films in which the sea is important?Titanic, Water world, Jaws, The Piano, The Day After Tomorrow2. What did you think of them? Tell your classmates.Example: Jaws is a horror film. Its about a dangerous shark. Its very frightening.3. Look at the Key Words and find them in the pictures.Key Words: barrel, cloud, fishermen, fishing boat, moon, wave, whirlpoolMore Words: edge, float, enormous, at great speed, sink into, survive, escapeII. Reading1.Reading Strategies Sequencing1)Look at the pictures and decide which shows the beginning, middle and end of the story.2)Read each paragraph. Pay attention to the linking words. They often help you decide the order of events, e.g. one day, suddenly, in the end.3)Decide a possible order for the paragraphs.4)Read them in that order to see if the story makes sense.Use the Strategies to put the paragraphs A, B and C in the correct order.Answer: B A C2.
