Key phrases:here we go, according to, sailing boat, keep sb./sth.away, cut sth.off sth., keep a diary, brush sth.off sth., at the time3. Key sentences:(1) I have some photos that I took in Australia last year.(2) They wear special hats that keep the flies away.(3) The scissors that theyre holding are used to cut the wool off the sheep.(4) I hated the ants that were all over the place.【能力目标】1. Use the pictures on the right and on the next page to help you.1. Where were the Olympic Games held in 2000?2.What is the largest English-speaking country in the southern part of the world?3. What famous things can you see there?T introduces the Opera House, Ayers Rock and Great Barrier Reef.(III) PracticeListen again and complete the sentences.1. The country that Tony would like to visit is _.2. In Tonys opinion, Australia is famous for _.3. Ayers Rock is a huge rock in the _ Australia.4. Australia is _ English-speaking country in the southern part of the world.【设计意图】通过图片和回答问题使学生熟悉本单元话题澳大利亚,并导入新课。Step IIPre-listening(A) Ss guess different animals in Australia with the help of descriptions.Its a large long-necked animal that is used for riding or carrying goods in desert countries.Its a large and dangerous fish that has sharp teeth.Its an Australia animal that jumps on its large back legs and carries its young in a special pocket of flesh.Its a large animal that has a long hard-skinned body and a long mouth with many teeth.Its a cute animal that sleeps for more than 18 hours a day.(B) T: The animal that I like best is the koala.Ss discuss together like the following:-What is the animal that you like best?-The animal that I like best is 【设计意图】1.进一步了解澳大利亚的动物 2. 初步了解含有that的定语从句。Step III While listening(I) Listen and complete the table. Listen to the dialogue and find out photos that Tonys father took in Australia(II) Listen again and fill in the table.【设计意图】通过设计由浅入深、不同层次的听力问题,使学生学习如何运用that引导的定语从句,同时培养学生把握对话主旨、听并获取细节信息的能力,通过两遍听力,锻炼学生的听力,促进学生听力水平的提高。Step IV Post-listening(I) Read and find out the attributive clauses.1. My teacher asked us to choose a country (that) we want to visit. 2. I have some photos that I took in Australia last year. 3. They wear special hats that keep the flies away. 4. The scissors that theyre holding are used to cut the wool off the sheep. 5. I hated the ants that were all over the place. (II) Read again and answer questions.1. What is Tony going to write about?2. Why does Tonys dad show his photos of Australia to Tony?3. Who are the people in some of the photos?4. Why do many Australians speak English?5. What did Tonys dad not like about Australia?(III) Complete the passage with the correct form of the words and expression in the box. Tony is going to write a letter about Australia. His dad helps him. He shows Tony some photos. Tony sees a photo of Ayers Rock in (1)_Australia. Ayers Rock has a(n) (2) _of 348 metres, and (3) _ the local people, it is a magical place. Tony also sees some photos of some sheep farmers with special (4) _ to keep away flies. The farmers use (5) _ to cut the wool off sheep. Tonys dad says Tony can read his (6)_. I have some photos that I took in Australia last year. 我有一些去年我在澳大利亚拍的照片。句中的that you took in Australia是定语从句,修饰先行词 the photos。 其中关系代词that在定语从句中作took的宾语。Eg:The handbag that I bought last week is lost.上周我买的包丢了。2. Here we go 我们这就去看看;我们开始吧英语口语中Here/there + you /we +go/are这种短语极为常见。从结构来 说, 这类习语有三个变量构成:第一:地点指示是近指还是远指(here/there); 第二: 人称指示是对称还是自称(we/you);第三: 谓语动词是动态还是静态(do/are) Here you go, Lucy. -Yeah. 你在这里呀,露西。-对啊。 Sam: Here you go: Im finished. 萨姆:给你表格,我写完了。3. According to the local people据当地人说 according to 相符的,一致的。Everything went off according to plan.一切都按照计划实现了。注意:according to 后一般不接view(看法) 和 opinion(意见)这类词,也不接表示第一人称 的代词(me, us).依我看,这部电影不错。应该说 In my opinion, the film is wonderful.不能说 According to my opinion, the film is wonderful.4. They wear special hats that keep the flies away. 他们带着特殊的帽子,阻挡苍蝇。keepaway 使保持(某种状态)I sign to him to keep away, but he continued to advance. 我示意他离开, 但他还是继续往前走。拓展:keep away from离远点As long as you keep away from them, youre safe.只要你离他们远一点,你就会安全。5.I had to brush them off my clothes我得把蚂蚁从我的衣服上刷下来。 brush off 把某物从某物上刷掉。Dont worry about that mark, it will be brushed off. 不要担心那个污渍,可以刷掉的6.
