Unit 4 Why dont you talk to your partner?Stage 1 : Analysis of the students and teaching content. All the students are in a middle school. They have learnt some trouble from the past units.Such as illness, duty to our society and arguments with partners.In this unit,the main content is to learn how to deal with your problems.Stage 2: Teaching ObjectivesTeaching knowledge and Ability1. Knowledge and SkillsStudents hear ,read, write the sentence patterns:Why dont you talk to your parents? Whats the matter? Whats wrong?Students understand and read the conversations of the lesson, and they can answer them in real life.Students use the sentence patterns to further develop their language ability.Students make use of sentence patterns to express their thoughts in proper scene.2. Process and MethodsStudents use inductive methods to conclude some expressions of giving advice through the observation of several sentences.Students can do practice individually.Total Situational Action and Task-based language learning Approach3. Emotional Attitudes and ValuesStudents actively take part in the learning activities. And they confidently finish the task and other projects.Students increase their interests and set up self-confidence in the language learning .Students learn “What is friendship?” “Helping others is helping yourself.”Teaching Key Points and Difficult Points1. Key PointsStudents use the new vocabulary and sentence patterns to practice asking and giving advice.Students master the different descriptions of problems.2. Difficult PointsStudents understand and use the sentence patterns in proper scene and improve their language ability.Students pronounce the words and sentences correctly.Teaching ProcedureStep One: Warming up1. Greet students as usual.2. Talk with students about their morning ,catch some messages about problems on lifestudy or other things.In a short time,review the two words “questions” and “problems”.Write them on the blackboard.Step Two: Leading in1. Watch a short movie about “Boonie Bears”,after watching it ,Lets talk about “Whats Logger Vicks problem?”Lead students to have a discussion about this part.2. Show another picture,on it ,there is a boy who is nervous because of his pressure from homework.Have a small talking :Whats wrong with the little boy?Students give different answers.3. Further have a discussion about ourselves.Use the multimedia to show some pictures. They are all from our daily life,maybe it happens every day.Step Three: Presentation1. With the help of talking,lead out 1a.There are five sentences ,add out 5 different pictures.First,catch the meaning of each picture, then practice using the grammar to make more sentences.A t last,fill in the blank.Look at these problems,Do you think they are serious or not?Write them in the appropriate box.SeriousNot serious2. According to 1a ,try to express the pictures in 1b.Listen and circle the problems you hear in 1a.In the first time,play the recording,just get the main idea.In the second time,circle the problems.At last,check the answers: 1 23. Practice listeningAfter getting the right answers,Lets try to practice listening,after that,fill in the original listening passage.4.
