Module 4 Unit 1 Do you like meat? He Ying Beichen Primary School Part 1 Analysis of the teaching content Firstly, lets focus on the analysis of teaching content. I. Status and Function This lesson is talking about food. Such a topic is related to our daily life, so it is helpful to raise the learning interests of students and it will also help to improve their spoken English. Based on “I like. ,I dont like.”,it is easy for students to learn “Do you like.?” II .Analysis of the Students Our students are in Grade 3. They are active and curious, interested in new things. They like playing games very much. So under the “Student-centered” education theory, Ill use some interesting games, songs, chants and a survey to appeal students needs. III.Teaching Aims and demands According to the New Curriculum of Primary School English and combining the students situation, I made the teaching aims as follow: 1.Knowledge objects (1) To learn and master five new words: meat,rice,fish,noodles,milk. (2) To enable the students to understand and speak “Do you like.? Yes,I do. No,I dont.” Make sure that students can use in real situations. 2.Ability objects The creative spirit is very important to the students. So Ill pay much attention to train it in my class. Otherwise Ill try to train the students learning and speaking abilities. Mainly improve their communicative abilities and encourage them to speak more English. 3.Emotion objects (1)To arouse the students interests of learning English. (2)Make the students have successful feeling and achievement. (3)let students know dont be choosy with their food. IV.Teaching Key and Difficult Points 1.Key points (1) To master the usage of the five new words. (2) To master and use “Do you like.? Yes,I do. No,I dont.”. 2.Difficult points How to use “Do you like.?” fluently and freely. V.Teaching Aids In order to interest the students, Ill use CAI and cards as my teaching aids. Part 2 The Teaching Methods In this lesson Ill mainly use “Task-based” teaching and “Student-centered” educating method. I will create a student-centered class. In class students play as a host, and the teacher makes an influence on guiding, help students to learn. Part 3 The Learning Methods Activity-based learning( individual work, pair work, group work, class work) Part 4 Teaching Procedures Ill finish this lesson in five steps. Step 1 Warming-up(3) 1. Greeting between teacher and students. 2. Sing the song together: How are you. 3. Game: Sing a different tune. Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the students by singing and playing a game and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge “I like.,I dont like.” for the next step. Step 2 Presentation(7) 1.Present the words:meat,rice,noodles,fish,milk Show some pictures with PPT T: Look,what are they doing? Ss:吃饭 T:Yes,they are eating. What are they eating? Ss:鱼,肉,面条,米饭,牛奶 T:Can you say them in English? Lets learn them together. Purpose: Use real pictures to learn new words can arouse students interest and stimulate their curious. 2.Chant 面条noodles细又长; 米饭rice喷喷香; 肉是meat最解谗; 鱼是fish营养多; 牛奶milk真好喝; 不挑不捡身体棒! Purpose:This chant can consolidate those new words and mention that we shouldnt be choosy with our food. 3.Game: Whats missing? Purpose: Create a cheerful and light-hearted environment and arouse studentsinterest in learning English. 4.Present the patterns:Do you like.? Yes, I do. /No,I dont. Point to the card rice, say: I like rice. Do you like rice? If you like it,you should say:“Yes, I do. ”If you dont like it,you should say:“No, I dont. ” Lead the students to read the sentence. Make sure they can say it correctly. 5. Teach please pass me. Say: Please pass me the rice. Help the students understand the meaning with the help of my body language. Purpose:Let the students learn in real situations. 6.Pair work. Work in pairs, use “Do you like.?”ask and answer. Purpose:To practice the main pattern and also to improve students communicative abilities. Step 3 Practice(16) 1.Learn the text (1)Listen,point and find Do you like. (2)Listen to the tape and have a match (3)Read after the tape (4)Group work: Act the text out! Purpose:Help students to act the text, it can stress the position of the students, and arouse their interest. 2.Work in groups. Each one would finish the printed form by asking and answering:Do you like.? Find out which group finishes faster. Purpose:Task-based teaching method is used here to develop studentsability of communication and also their ability of cooperation will be well trained. Step 4 Conclusion(3) 1.Write a chant Eg: Meat meat, meat meat, good good good, good good good. Do you like meat?Do you like meat? Yes,I do. Yes,I do. Fish fish,fish fish, good good good, good good good. Do you like fish?Do you like fish? No,I dont. No,I dont. Purpose:To train the creative spirit of the students. 2.Sum up: ask the students sum up by themselves. Purpose:To make a deeper impression on the knowledge they learned today. Step 5 Homework(1) Do a survey in your fa
