And this lesson will give students a chance to talk about science and learn the relevant words and expressions. It also helps students learn how to read numbers, which are important in experiment reports.教学目标:By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:(1) master the words and expressions related to a lab;(2) read numbers correctly;(3) have a good understanding of science.教学重难点:Students master the new words and read numbers correctly.课前准备:Multimedia.教学过程:Step 1 Warm-upShare a picture and ask questions.1. Where are they?2. What are they doing?【设计意图】本单元的话题是关于学生在实验室的课程。该图片便是呈现出实验室做实验的场景,帮助学生快速导入此话题。Step 2 QuizTry to choose the correct answers.1. (a) Water exists as a solid, a liquid and a gas. (b) Water exists as a solid and a liquid only.2. (a) When you heat a metal, it expands. (b) When you heat a metal, it contracts.3. (a) Steel is a mixture of iron and other substances. In this unit, this grammar can help students describe experiments in a better way.教学目标:By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:(1) master the grammatical points about degrees of comparison;(2) apply the knowledge to practical use. 教学重难点:Students master degrees of comparison.课前准备:Multimedia.教学过程:Step 1 Lead-inAre you familiar with the sentence?The earth is forty-nine times larger than the moon.【设计意图】结合学生的已学知识导入本节课的话题。Step 2 Degrees of comparison1. a. This tree is three times _ tall _ that one. 这棵树是那棵树的三倍高。 b. The scientist is _ as old as the young man. 这位科学家的年纪有这个年轻人两倍大。 Conclusion: A + be + 倍数 + as + 形容词原级 + as + B2. a. The first one is about the reaction of metals. The second one is about a simple scientific experiment. Based on the understanding, students need to master the important expressions: It is adj. (for/ of sb.) to do sth.; add sth. to sth.; keep sb./sth. out of; in conclusion.教学目标:By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:(1) master the expressions: It is adj. (for/ of sb.) to do sth.; add sth. to sth.; keep sb./sth. out of; in conclusion; (2) apply the expressions to practical use;(3) develop imagination. 教学重难点:Students apply the knowledge to practical use.课前准备:Multimedia.教学过程:Step 1 Revision_ is hard to think of a world without metals. They react differently with different substances.
