必修1Module 1 My First Ride at Senior HighDear Mummy and DaddyI have been here for a week now. Everything here is new to me. There are 1,800 students and 32 classes with 200 teachers and staff in our school. The teachers in our school work hard. Chinese, math and English are our required courses. Besides these we have many selected subjects to choose from, too. I am in Class 3, Grade 1. There are fifty-five students in my class. My English teacher is our head teacher. She is very kind to us but she is very strict and serious about her work. We all think that she is a great teacher. Please dont worry about me. Im old enough to take care of myself, and Ill do my best in all of my subjects. Best wishes. Yours Li HuaModule 2 My New English TeacherMrs Li has left a very good first impression on me. She is a beautiful young lady, enthusiastic and full of energy. Now I know that she is a really wonderful teacher. She explains everything clearly and is very patient with us. She always encourages us and avoids making us feel embarrassed even when we make mistakes,so every student is very active in her class. So far, Mrs Li has been teaching us for only two weeks, but she has already become the most popular teacher with all of the students in our class!I am sure that we are going to learn a lot with Mrs Li teaching us.Module 3 My First Ride on a trainDear Helen, This summer I had a ten-day Xishuangbanna tour. Xishuangbanna is one of the most beautiful places in China. It Lies in the south of Yunnan Province. It covers an area of 19,125 square kilometers and has a population of 8,480,000. The environment here is friendly. Its warm and humid all year long. Xishuangbanna is rich in plants and animals and is also called“a herb garden”. What impressed me most was that people here splash water on each other. I was told that they do this to celebrate the new year. By the way, I bought some souvenirs and Im going to give one to you as a gift. Im looking forward to seeing you. Yours, Li HuaModule 4 A Social SurveyMy Neighbourhood The last time I went to see my grandparents was two years ago. This Spring Festival I went to see them again. What surprised me most is the great changes that have taken place there in the past two years. The little muddy road has turned into a broad cement road, on both sides of which are trees. Lines of new tall buildings stand where there used to be narrow and low houses. Color TVs, fridges and motorcycles have taken the place of the simple furniture in each house. I am so happy to see such great changes there!Module 6 The Internet and TelecommunicationsWith the popularity of computers and Internet, nowadays more and more students would like to send electronic cards instead of ordinary ones. Compared with the traditional ones, electronic cards are more convenient and interesting. You can send or receive not only pictures but also sounds. There are all kinds of very beautiful ones on the Internet for you to choose from. But if you dont like them, you can also design ones by yourself because it is very simple. Besides, its faster and easier to send and receive them as well. There are many advantages of using electronic cards. Im sure sending electronic cards will be more and more popular among people, not only our students. 必修2 Module1 Our body and Healthy Habits Western Fast food is becoming more popular in China, especially among children and teenagers. Today, its certainly difficult to think of any other thing that represents the high pace of modern life as powerfully as fast food. There are several reasons for its popularity. First, it is very convenient and saves a lot of time. You just go into a fast food restaurant, order your food, and your food is ready in no time. You can either eat it there or take it away. Second, most of the fast food restaurants also offer the clean and comfortable environment, the excellent service, too. But doctors suggest that people, especially children, should eat fast food as little as possible because it usually does not offer a balanced diet and is low in nutritional value.Module 2 No Drugs Now some middle school students smoke because they think smoking is an enjoyment. In fact, smoking does harm to health especially to the teenagers. Doctors and scientists have found that smoking may cause serious illnesses, such as heart troubles or cancers. More and more people in the world have given up or have decided to get rid of smoking. We teenagers should stop doing such silly things, too. As future builders of our country, we students should make full use of time to study, and do things to benefit our homeland, our people and ourselves. From now on, smokers should make up their minds to break away from the bad habit and form good ones.Module 3 Music Music has special effect on us. Although we come from different countries and speak different languages, we can listen to it and understand it. There are many kinds of music, such as folk music, classical music, jazz, pop music, and country music. But I like country music best. It was over the radio that I listened to it for the first time. It makes me think about the blue sky, the white cloud, the green grass and also the peaceful life in the country. I become so interested in it that I have bought many tapes about country music. Now I can listen to it freely in my spare time.Module 4 Fine ArtsWestern, Chinese and Pop ArtsLadies and gentlemen, First of all, please allow me to express my welcome. Today I will show you around the art gallery of our school. The gallery was built in 1996, that is, she is very young. The works exhibited in the gallery are mainly from all previous students. The works cover a long number of topics with good basic skills. Whats more, all the paintings are full of imagination. I think you will enjoy them. Of all the works, the winners in the national competition include Morning, After school and so on. You see, Xu Xiaoshi, the famous contemporary, used to be a student in our school. Fortunately, a few of his paintings are still kept in the gallery, which were made when he was in senior high. I guess you will get interested. Thank you for your attention. Welcome to my hometown.Module 3 The Violence of NatureA Flood Disaster A flood disaster took place in some areas in China .It had been raining all those days and never stopped, which led to the flood. The PLA men arrived immediately to rescue the villagers in the flooded areas. And they did their best to fight against the flood. They supplied the villagers with fresh vegetables and food .Some medical teams were organized to help them so that they could have healthy diet. And that was a sign of victory.Module 4 Sandstorms in AsiaSandstorms have been a major disaster of many Asian countries, which are very frightening and dangerous. To have been caught in the sandstorms is a terrible experience. Besides, more and more foreign companies have come to our hometown to make an investment.必修4 Module 1 Life in the Future Sometimes I dream about life in the future. What will it be like? Perhaps some people go to the moon for a holiday and some scientists will live under the sea. Maybe we will have videophones in every home. We can have a medical examination or do some shopping without leaving our homes. And Im sure therell be more educational programs on the radio or TV. So perhaps some children wont need to go to school every day. Theyll study at home. Not every person likes doing housework. Maybe in the future each family will have a robot. Every day we can tell the robot what to do shopping, housework and so on .I believe the dream will come true.Module 2 Traffic Jam Road Safety Every year a lot of people are killed or injured in road accidents. How can we make the roads safer? Please remember the following traffic rules. When you ride a bike, keep to the right side of the road. Dont cross the road or turn left at a red traffic light. Give a hand signal if you want to turn or stop. Before crossing the road, stop and look both ways, right and left. If the road is clear, it is safe to cross. The correct way to cross is to walk quickly, but not to run. If you run across the road, you may fall down and have an accident. Always remember not to play on the roads. It is extremely dangerous. Always obey these rules, youll find it much safer to walk or ride on the road.Module 3 Body Language and Non-verbal Communication Im very pleased to know that you are coming to visit China. It is a good idea to know about some social rules in China before coming here. It will help you to communicate more effectively with others. People usually shake hands when they meet someone for the first time. While listening, youd better smile, nod and say “uh-huh” to show your interest. At the same time you should have good eye contact and use positive body language. When you get help, you should say thank you. In addition, you need to wave your hand to say goodbye. What more, when you are talking with others, youd better not look at your watch. Yawning, sighing, and looking away from the person whos talking to you is impolite. Youd better not interrupt or change the subject either. Dont stand very close to others or talk to others when your mouth is full of food.I hope this information is helpful.Looking forward to seeing you.
