Unit 2 School in CanadaLesson 9 Mr. Wood Teaches a Science Lesson 教材分析本课所选的内容是冀教版小学六年级英语第七册第二单元。本单元围绕李明在加拿大的学校生活展开,要求学生掌握一些有关于校园生活学习的词汇和句型。本课时以上科学课为背景,要求学生能掌握词汇temperature, degree, zero, ill,并结合日常生活进行交流,使所学语言功能化。 教学目标【知识与能力目标】能够正确听、说、认、读temperature, degree, zero, ill等表达温度以及感受的单词,并且能够在真实的语境中运用这些单词进行表达。【过程与方法目标】通过活动培养学生能够正确运用所学习的词汇和句子。【情感态度价值观目标】通过情景创设,让学生能够根据天气选择正确的活动,以及穿戴方式,激发和培养学生学习英语的欲望和乐于运用英语交流的态度和能力。 教学重难点【教学重点】掌握询问温度的用语“Whats the temperature now?”和询问某人的体温的句型“Whats your temperature?”及其答语。【教学难点】能够理解degree的正确用法。 课前准备课件。 教学过程Step 1. ReviewThe greeting between students and teacher:T: Good morning class.S: Good morning teacher.T: OK. Lets play a game before the class.Broadcast PPT2Divide students to word in four to play the train game. (接火车游戏)S1: Im from Where are you from?S2: He is from I am from Where are you from?S3: He is from She is from I am from Where are you from?S4: (Design thinking: review the expression of time and lead in new knowledge in this lesson, to make a proficiency cohesion between old and new knowledge.)Step 2. Topic introducingBroadcast PPT2.T: What can you see in the pictures? Whats this?S: weather forecast. (天气预报/温度计)T: Hows the weather today?S: Its Discuss temperature of different seasons. Think back of the learnt knowledge and remind students of the words “rainy, temperature, cool and warm”Tell students that Li Ming is studying science today, and teacher tell him how to express temperature correctly. Lets see what happened in the class. Step 3. PresentationPPT4-PPT15 learn the first part of the book.Broadcast PPT4-5,teacher lead to read the text for several times until students can read it fluently.Teacher asks students:Hows the weather today?Whats Li Mings temperature?Whats the chickens temperature?Whats the temperature of a healthy chicken?Teacher answers the question with students together, which will be of great benefits for students to understand dialogues further.Broadcast PPT6-15 and explain the knowledge points in turn.This part is mainly aiming at:(by analyze the sentence structure, example questions and examples, improve the students understanding of new knowledge. You can ask students to answer the questions or give some examples when you are teaching.)Hows the weather today, Steven?今天天气怎么样,斯蒂芬?This is a special question led by “how”,which is used to ask weather condition. And “weather” means“天气”,is an uncountable noun, so the verb “be” should be “is”.The answer is:Its + 表示天气的形容词。expansion:Whats the weather like today?It can also be used to express weather conditions.example:Hows the weather today?=Whats the weather like today?今天天气怎么样?Its warm.很暖和。Whats the temperature, Kim?温度是多少,金?Its 15 degrees.十五度The sentence to ask for temperature.This is a special question led by “what”. If you want to ask temperature of somebody or something, you can use the sentence “Whats+形容词性物主代词/名词所有格 + temperature?”The answer should be:Its + 数字 + degree (s).此句中temperature前面与定冠词the连用。例句:Whats the temperature now?现在温度是多少?Its 40 degrees.40度。Whats his/Li Mings temperature?他的/李明的温度是多少?Its 37 degrees.37度。ill /l/ adj.有病的;不舒服example:My cat is ill.我的猫生病了。Step 4. Lets do it! (PPT16-20)PPT16 question one:Read the dialogue in this class again and answer the questions.What lesson does Mr Wood teach? (He teaches science.)Whats the chickens temperature? (Its temperature is 41.5 degrees.)Is the chicken ill?
