Review the text of Unit 1. 2.Show some photos of presents and let the students have a short conversation with a partner.3. Introduce the new words.【设计意图】直接明了,为主题搭建支架。Step 2 Practice1. Look at the pictures in Activity 1. 2. Read through the list of presents and have the students repeat them after you chorally and individually.3. Match the words with the pictures. 4. Check with a partner.5. Then write a passage about the things they like and the things their friend likes.Things I like Things friend likes music; reading I like music.I often listen to music.I also like reading.I always read English magazines in the evening.Lingling is my friend, she likes2Group work: Let the students talk about what they like and what presents they should give their friends on their birthdays. Then write a passage. For example: What would you like for your birthday, Li Lei? Id like a book because I like reading, and I read a lot of books and magazines.Li Lei is my friend. He likes reading and he reads a lot of books and magazines, so I can give him a book for his birthday.【设计意图】结合文本,围绕主题,为语言输出搭建框架,层层递进,联系实际,激发氛围。Step 5 Writing1. Ask the students to talk about things they like and do. 2. Tell the students to read the passage in Activity 2, and try to write a passage about choosing presents for their family and friends. The teacher can give help when necessary. One possible version:My mother likes going to the cinema. I usually buy her cinema tickets or movie magazines as a present for her birthday. My father likes chocolate and I always buy him some. I also like to buy him CDs because he likes music. My grandparents dont like chocolate. They dont like watching sport but they like reading. So I often buy them interesting books. My friends birthday is tomorrow. She doesnt like expensive clothes and she doesnt like films, either. She likes concerts. So I choose a concert ticket for her birthday. 3.
