高中英语必修二Unit 5 Music教学设计Period 1 Warming up and reading -高一英语组 王晶晶Analysis on the textbook and the students教材分析和学情分析 The topic of this unit is Music,which is one of familiar and interesting topics to students. It focuses on music and different music styles, which are also the focuses of other parts in this unit. If we start with music and different music styles as well as some famous singer, bands, it will be easier to arouse students interests. However, the Monkees is not so familiar a band for them, so the students need a lot more time to find out relevant information. Meanwhile, the success of the Monkees is quite inspiring and encouraging, through which we can inspire the students to pursue their own dreams and study harder. The students in Grade One Class Twelve are pretty active in class, though their English levels vary from each other. With the development of science and technology, they, as high-school students, also pay more attention to the nature of things, the practical knowledge and different cultures except for the language study and skills. Get to know our objectives for this period 1. Get familiar with(熟悉) some different styles of music.2. Get the main idea of the passage as well as some detailed information. 3. Improve reading ability through practicing different reading skills. Step 1 Warming up1. Get familiar with some words about musicT: What do you think of when we talk about music? Give me some words.Ss: singer, dancer, musician, classical musicT: Lets share some words together.Read them together-band, musician, instrument, lyric, melody, conductor, composer2. Get familiar with some different music stylesT: Can you name any music styles?Ss: jazz, rap, rock n roll, classical music, folk music, country musicT: Do you know their differences?Ss: yes/ noT: Lets do a guessing game and enjoy some music. Design aims:1. To start with an familiar and interesting topic to arouse students interests and response.2. To prepare students background knowledge for this unit through getting familiar with different music styles.Step 2 Reading1. Pre-readingT: Can you name any famous bands?Ss: Beyond, Super Junior, Big Bang, the BeatlesT: Lets share some pictures together. Design aims:1. To get into our topic and lead the band The Monkees in through the ones that students are familiar with.2. To arouse students curiosity about the Monkees.2. While-reading1) Fast readingListen to the recording and match the main idea of each paragraph.Design aims:To practice students skills of fast reading to get the main ideas of the passage2) Careful readingRead paragraph 1 & 2 yourself carefully and loudly, then do the True or False exercise. You have 3 minutes.Now, please look at the PPT. Lets read the first one together. Girls, read NO.2.Boys, read NO. 3True or false, why? Give the detailed information.Get in groups and discuss with your partners about how the Monkees was formed and how they became famous and popular. Here is my reflection, firstly, the time control is not good enough. The time on fast reading is too long, which reduce the time on discussion part and post reading part. Secondly, because of the requirements of the reading-warming up, pre-reading, while-reading, post-reading and so on, the time for students to study themselves after class is little, which give us sense of stuffing the whole class. Thirdly, obviously the important points are not that obvious enough. Fourthly, students practice on reading is not enough, for example, during the group work, there is not enough time for them to report their results. Fifthly, the digging of the title and the main ideas is not enough, whats more, I should lead them to find out the main ideas and the meanings of the title and the finding of the main ideas.
