Have you ever dreamed of playing in front of thousands of people at a concert, at which everyone is clapping and appreciating your music. (教材原句P34)你是否曾梦想过在音乐会上面对成千上万的观众演唱,观众欣赏你的歌唱为你鼓掌呢?【句式分析】介词+关系代词引导的定语从句,这里的at which相当于where,其中的which指代先行词concert, Later, they may give performances in pubs or clubs, for which they are paid in cash. (教材原句P34)后来他们可能在酒吧或者俱乐部里演出,这样他们可以他们可以得到现金。 However, after a year or so in which they became more serious about their work, the Monkees started to play and sing their own songs like a real band. (教材原句P34)电视制作人原计划找到四位既能唱歌又能表演的乐手。【句式分析】(1).本句为主从复合句,who引导定语从句,先行词为musicians。(2).主句的谓语动词had planned ,意为“原本计划做某事”,表示过去未曾实现的想法,打算,意图等。类似的动词还有mean, intend, hope, think等。 They had planned to help but couldnt get there in time. 他们本打算去帮忙,但没有及时赶到那里。 I had meant to send him a Christmas card, but I forgot to do so. 我本有意送给他一张圣诞卡片,但我忘记这回事了。【归纳拓展】had planned/meant/intended/hoped= planned/meant/intended/hoped to have done 本计划/打算/希望做某事【即学即练】(1) I _ to call on you, but was prevented from doing so. (intend)我本打算去看你的,但没能去成。(2) We_ to catch the 8:00 train, but found it was gone. (hope)我们本来希望赶8点的火车,却发现车已经开了。4. As some of these actors could not sing well enough, they had to rely on other musicians to help them. 因为这些演员中有些人唱的不够好,他们不得不依靠队里其他人的帮助。 as 引导原因状语从句,意为“由于,因为” As you are not feeling well, you may as well stay at home. 因为你身体不好,你还是留在家里吧。 As she has been ill perhaps she will need some help. 她由于生病可能需要一些帮助。【即学即练】(1). _my final exam, I didnt respond to your email as soon as I received it. (教材原句P36) 无论何时我们去酒吧,我们都演奏我们自己的歌曲,还请常客们喝饮料。【句式分析】这是一个主从复合句,Whenever引导的时间状语从句,相当于no matter when 。类似特殊疑问词+ever引导的状语从句一般都可转化为no matter+特殊疑问词。 No matter how hard/However hard he tried, he couldnt get her to change her mind. 无论他怎么努力,都不能使她改变主意。 No matter what/Whatever he says, nobody believe in him any more. 不管他说什么,都没有在相信他了。【即学即练】(1).You are welcome, _. (visit) 无论你什么时候看望我,都欢迎。(2). _, he carries a book in his pocket. (go) 不管他走到哪,他的袋子里都携带着一本书。6. Freddy and his band could not go out anywhere without being followed.(教材原句P38)弗雷迪和他的乐队无论走到哪里都会有人跟踪。 【句式分析】本句为简单句。句中not- without-是双重否定,用来表达肯定意义,此处not也可用never代替, 意为“没有-不-”The two men can never talk without laughing.这两个人谈话没有不笑的时候。What he has said is not without reason. 他说的话并非没有道理。【即学即练】(1).There isnt a single time when he looks at the photo_. (without) 他每次看到这张照片,都会想起他的童年。(2). You cant make an omelette _. (without) 你不可能不打蛋就能做出煎饼。(没有人能不经历练就成就大事的。)7.At last feeling very upset and sensitive, Freddy and his band realized that they must leave the country before it became too painful for them. (教材原句P38)最后由于深感苦恼,神经高度紧张,费雷迪和他的乐队意识到他们必须在他们自己感到痛苦之前离开这个国家。【句式分析】(1)本句为主从复合句。That引导动词realized后的宾语从句。而宾语从句中还有before引导的时间状语从句。before 表示“在-之前;趁-; 还没来得及就” It took three months before he recovered from his illness. 三个月后他才病愈恢复健康。 It wont be long before we take the final-term examination. 要不了多久我们就要期末考试了。 Study hard before it is too late. 趁着还不晚,努力学习。 The water was upon her before he could think twice. 他还没来得及三思,洪水就逼进了他。【归纳拓展】It was/took +时间段+before sb. did sth. 过了多久-才-It wasnt/didnt take+时间段+before sb.did sth. 没过多久-就-It will be +时间段+before sb.does sth. 要过多久才-It wont be +时间段+before sb.does sth. 要不了多久,就-before 后的从句中有can/could表达“还没来得及就-”(2) feeling very upset and sensitive 为现在分词短语作原因状语,逻辑主语是Freddy and his band。当分词所表示的动作与谓语动作同时发生或几乎同时发生时,用分词一般式。当分词表示的动作发生在谓语动作之前,可以用现在分词的完成式,其逻辑主语是主句中的主语。 Seeing nobody at home, she decided to leave them a note. 看到没人在家,她决定给他们留一张便条。 Not knowing what to do, Li Ming turned to the teacher for help.不知道做什么,李明向老师求助。 Having finished his homework, he went out to play. 做完作业,他出去玩了。【即学即练】(1). _, I cant write to her.
