Students can describe animals, express preferences and give reasons.Teaching difficulty:Students can express preferences and give reasons.Teaching steps:Step1: Lead-in.Enjoy a short video.Q: What animals can you see?Ss: birds, lions, elephants.设计目的:播放视频短片既活跃了课堂气氛,激发了学生的学习兴趣,又引入了本课的主题。接着,教师教授新单词animal,整体感知动物名字,为下面的步骤做好铺垫。Step2: Guessing game.T: We have also learned many other animals. Lets guess the animals we have learned.Present: monkey-monkeys chicken-chickens dog-dogs /z/ /z/ /z/pig-pigs snake-snakes duck-ducks /z/ /s/ /s/设计目的:通过猜测游戏继续调动学生参与课堂的积极性,并让学生复习以前学过的动物名字及/s/,/z/的发音。Step3: Presentation.T: There are also many other animals we dont know. Lets go to the zoo and see them.Present the picture in 1a.T: This is a zoo and this is a map of the zoo. In it, you can see big red words”Welcome to the zoo.”and animals.Present: panda-pandas tiger-tigers elephant-elephants /z/ /z/ /ts/lion-lions giraffe-giraffes koala-koalas /z/ /s/ /z/设计目的:通过主情景图,呈现新单词zoo,welcome to.,动物名字的单复数形式,并引出本堂课的主线是逛动物园。Step4: Practice.T: Try to read these words: snakes, dogs, dishes, cats, friends. Put these words in the chart: birds, fishes, etc.Do 1a. Match the words with the animals in the picture.设计目的:这一环节主要是语音练习,让学生巩固/s/,/z/,/iz/,/ts/,/dz/在单词中的发音。借此,也对新学的几个动物名字加以巩固。Step5: Presentation.T: Now we know the animals in the zoo. What animals do you want to see first? Do you like pandas? Why do you like pandas?Help Ss to answer: Because they are cute.Present the words: cute, smart, beautiful, lazy, scary.Present the structure: Why do you like pandas? Because theyre cute. Why dont you like lions? Because theyre scary.设计目的:待学生能熟练使用动物名词后,加入句型的练习,以此呈现了几个形容词,并利用学生的回答,不断强调kind of ,very, really的用法,并板书。使枯燥的对话操练变得丰富多彩,也让学生在真实的情境中正确运用所学的知识。Step6: Listening.1. Do 1b. Listen and check the animals you hear in 1a.2. Listen and imitate.设计目的:在学生能较好地运用所学知识的基础上,完成课本上的1b。这既能巩固所学的内容,也有助于培养学生听的能力和正确的语音语调。Step7: Pairwork.Practice the conversation with your partner. Then make conversations about the other animals in 1a. Use the words in the box.A: Lets .B: Why .?A: Because .cute interesting fun smart lazy beautiful 设计目的:创设语境,使学生的语言操练始终在真实或接近真实的情境中进行。操练内容源自课本,但是,在学生表现的时候,教师只提供简单的结构,让学生很好地进行了发挥。Step8: Listening.T:I want to see the pandas,too. Because pandas only live in China. There are also two other countries: Australia, South Africa. Teach: Australia, South Africa.(借助地图)设计目的:抓住学生的回答,很自然地引到教师的自述,呈现国家词汇:China。并带出另外两个国家词汇。以阅读地图的方式呈现Australia, Africa等生词形象生动,符合七年级学生的心理特点。Do 2a. Listen and write the animals you hear. Draw a line from the animals to the description words and the countries they are from.Check the answers like this: Pandas are kind of interesting. They are from China.Koalas are very cute. They are from Australia.Lions are really scary. They are from South Africa.Do 2b. Listen again.
