Unit 2 My favorite season 08英本7班 尹强 04b10740835Teaching objectives:1、Knowledge objectives: Teach students to listen, read, speak, and write new words, including “season, spring, summer, fall, winter”, and can recognize the key sentence “whats your favorite season?”, mainly through “Total Physical Response” teaching method .Students know “whats the weather like in each season?”2、Ability objectives: Students can use new words in daily life and can describe different seasons, and also can use the new sentence to ask others or respond to it fluently.3、Moral Objectives: Help student to build their love for the nature.Key teaching points:1、 Vocabulary: season, spring, summer, fall, winter2、 Sentence: whats your favorite season?Teaching difficulty points:1、 The pronounce of words: spring, fall, favorite2、 The spelling of the word: favorite3、 The describe of each season: for example, summer is sunny and hot , we can wear T-shirt and we can go swimming.Teaching aids:Word cards, power point, pictures, cartoons for praising studentsTeaching steps:Step one: Warming up Play a chant: Mmm! Its warm today! Take off your jacket! Phew! Its hot today! Put on your T-shirt! Oooh! Its cool today! Put on your sweater! Brrr! Its cold today! Put on your coat! Students follow it and do related actions.Step two: Presentation T: Oh, I like your clothes, its yellow. Please look outside, what kind of color can you see? S: White, the buildings are whiteGreen, trees are green. T: Yes, but do you know in which season will it turn to green? (Show students the word card “season”.) (S: In spring.) T: (Yes, you are so clever.) Today we are going to learn something about season. (Teacher writes the theme “My favorite season” on the blackboard and shows it on the power point. Use the word card to teach students to pronounce the word “season” “favorite” by rising the tone and falling the tone.) Then teacher draws tree trunks on the blackboard, then adds green leaves on it. Also draws some flowers and grasses.) T: You see, the leaves are green now. In spring, the trees will turn to green. Ok, read after me, “spring”. (Before that, ask students just listen to teacher to pronounce it. Then request student to practice it “one by one, row by row”, final the whole class. Teacher praises the individual with a cartoon and praises the group with a red flag on the blackboard, which can let them compete with other group and be more active to anticipate the class.) And then the teacher writes it and puts the picture on the blackboard. T: Is spring warm? (And also write “warm” on it) T: Now, lets have a guess and tell me what season it is. Its very hot, I can swim and I wear my beautiful dress. (Do related actions.) S: Its summer. T: Great, good job. Please read after me. (Point several students to read it , then the whole class read it twice together.) T: Now, please close your eyes. (Teacher paints the leaves into yellow and draws some fallen leaves.) -Now,boys and girls, please open your eyes. Look at the blackboard, what can you find? S: The leaves are yellow. T: Wonderful, so what season it is? (Show the word card.) -Its fall. Read after me. (Use the same way and praise students timely.) Teacher changes the draw into winter. Its snowy and no leaves on the trees. T: What season it is now?-Its winter. Read after me. (Use the same way and praise students timely.)Step three: Practice and consolidation High voice and low voice: Show students the word cards and pictures to ask students to say what season it is. Then the teacher use the game “High voice and low voice” to practice. Quick response: At first, Use power point to show the picture of each season and ask them to say what season it is. Then show the words of each season quickly and then ask them to say it out in order.Step four: Regression textbooks and practiceT: Whats the weather like today?S: Its sunny and hot.T: Do you like it?T: Oh, my favorite season is spring. Because its warm and there are a lot of beautiful flowers.-Whats your favorite season? Why ? (Teacher writes it down on the black board and asks several students)S: My favorite season is-, because its-T:-OK, now please open your books, listen to the video and follow it sentence by sentence. (Teacher corrects some pronunciation of the word “favorite, spring, fall” ) (After that, teacher divides the whole class and let them read different roles .And praises the better group.)Describe season T: Whats the weather like in summer?S: Its hot.T: And something else?S: I can eat ice-cream in summer and wear my T-shirt.(Ask one student to answer. Then let student to discuss it in group. At last, ask two students to show us how to describe the season and practice the dialogue.)Lets have a guess Ask a student come to stage and describe a season and do some action.
