PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL & IMPROVEMENTOutline:Overview of students performance criteria and team activitiesDiagnose the problems and specific classify Improvement Plan: Solutions and the best oneSMART GoalsCheck and Evaluation Criteria:Last week, our group writes 5 weighting factors. It includes:1, explain the team result, ideas and speak in class. 2, Decision-making ability (Organize and assist to make right decision, or give good suggestions). 3, Ability of supporting creative ideas.(Be active as creative thinking, bring fresh ideas in team works). 4, Personal contribution for team works (Support useful information and relevant knowledge). 5, Attitude toward team project and discussion.Overview of team activities:This semester our group does the many group assignments. It includes:1: Delay the plane.2: Answer the item. The goal is use the right way to answer the question.3: Cheating. (Analysis the problem) Help us to realize how to analysis the problem.4: Cheating. (Creative the problem). Help us to realize how to creative the problem.5: Create a new product in the kitchen. Help us to create the new thing.6: The boss how to deal with the Joes problem. Make we study become easier than just study the knowledge.7: Joe & boss play roles. Use an example to let us know how to deal with the conflict.8: Tomatoes game. (Create some new words). Help us to create the new things and know the new words.9: Ping-pang game. (Group game). Let us know group project need every group member do something.10: Pushing tin. We can from this movie realize the stress in our daily life. 11: Two games. (Creative thinking). Help us to learn the creative thinking.12: Relax stress (Sleeping and listening a music). Relax is very important for our.13: Manager Paper. It can help know how to become a good manager.14: Item conflict. Help us to learn the four conflict ways and use these.15: A program to get a job. Use a movie help us to study and find why they can get the job. Definite Problems:We connect with the criteria weighting factors and the group activities weve done and find 8 common problems:1, Poor English2, Basic skills: language, analysis skills, creative thinking3, Lack of understanding of lessons4, Not knowledgeable5, Positivity6, Participation7, Attitude toward this lesson and less responsibility8, The better student ignore the poorer.Specific classify:A. Inadequate subordinate ability:1, Poor English- This is resources problem.2, Basic skills: language, analysis skills, creative thinking- This is training problems3, Lack of understanding of lessons- This is aptitude problem.4, Not knowledgeable- This is resources problem.B. Inadequate subordinate motivation:5, Positivity: someone who like study this class and answer questions- This is incentives problem.6, Participation: class participation and stand for group to answer the questions- This is expectations problem.7, Attitude towards this lesson and less responsibility- This is salience problem.8, The better student ignore the poorer.- This is expectations problem.Top Problem:From these analysis of our common problems, we find a motivation problem as our focus to solve, which is the particular problem happened on the Needs Improvement students. The top problem we saw with our low performing students was that the negative attitude towards the lesson and less responsibility.Improvement PlanSolutions:Focus on the top problem of attitude and responsibility, we create four solutions to solve the problem:a. Jenga game:Use this game to show helped students that every member is very important for the team. Solve the question of attitude: Make someone understand that his attitude and behavior are quite closely bond up the teams success, no matter where you locate. Every member should take his or her responsibility.b. Detailed work: According to each persons strengths, the team leader arranges for their specific missions, and everyone must involved, as the result the member can build the sense of responsibility to the team during the process of completing the task.c. Reward and punishment rules: Each of the members of the group should pay 20 yuan per month to create a group foundation to form a competitive environment and system. In one month, someone who is the greatest contribution to the group and will get a gift as reward, if someones performance is bad ,so he will pay extra10 yuan at the end of month, we will use the money to have a dinner party.d. Increase Interest:Find some related to management skills movies and video to attract and inspire the Needs Improvement students, making them find interests from this course.The more interesting, the more investment. They will more actively participate in the activities of the group.Best Solution: According to above solutions, we choose one that is easy to accomplish as the best solution: setting Reward and punishment rules. The reason why we choose it as the best solution are:1.This method can stimulate our study enthusiasm, remind students to play an irreplaceable role in the team and to cultivate a sense of responsibility.2. Competition can promote us to understand this course better, thus changing the learning attitude and improving our ability voluntary.3. Competition can stimulate our potential to study hard and create new ideas.4. This solution is fair and reasonable, it can make the high performance students be rewarded, and punished the low performance students because of their laziness, warning them to correct their attitude in time.5. This way can improve the relationship and friendship among team members.SMART Goals:Specific:We (group members) plan to start a system of rewards and penalities, to help Need Improvement students correct their attitudes towards teamwork and increase their responsibilities in our team.Measurable:a.Every member take out 20 yuan as the basic team capital for rewarding the good performed students.b.During one-month class time, the team member who perform negatively (or lose in the presentation competition) should pay for extra 10 yuan for the team capital at the end of month. c. At the end of month, our team will use the team capital to have a dinner together, talking next-month teamwork and help the backward students how to improve.Attainable: a.A team member in our team is fair and careful and good at capital management.b.We have serious standards and weighting factors to evaluate and supervise members performance.Realistic: It is easy for a student to pay20 yuan per month, and we have spare time to have a dinner together. This way can improve the performance
