unit 2 the united kingdom speaking and writingspecial project: composition about placesteaching planforwriting about how to describe a place.goodafternoon,everyone,itsmygreatpleasuretobeheresharingmy lessonwith you. thislessonisabout speaking and writing of a place.illbeginthislessonfromfiveparts.analysisoftheteachingmaterialstudents,theteachingmethods,thestudyingmethods,theteaching procedure,andblackboarddesign.first,letmetalkabouttheteaching material.part1teachingmaterial:as ss in senior school should have the four abilities: listening, reading, speaking and writing. so writing plays an important part in the english teaching .so thislessonisinthe importantpositionofthe teachingmaterial.ifthesscanlearnitwell,itwillbehelpfultomakethesslearnto write this type of composition. accordingtothenewstandard curriculumandthesyllabus(新课程标准和教学大纲), ithinkthe learningaimsarethefollowings:1.knowledgeobjects:(1)thesscangrasp some words and phrases about the names of places.(2)thesscanlearn some useful patterns.(3)thesscanusethepatternstoexpressand write a composition about a place.2. abilityobjects:(1)todevelopthessabilitiesof writing.(2)totrainthessabilityofworkinginpairs.3.emotionormoralobjects:a) bycompletingthetask, thesscan introduce their hometown to the class.b)putthemoraleducationintothe study.let the ss love their own hometown .4.importantpointsimprove the ss writing ability5. difficultpoints.how to improve the ss writing abilitywell, asisknown tousall, howtoachievetheteachingobjects better and howtostressthe importantpointsandbreakthroughthe difficultpoints isvery important in the teaching procedures. agood teachingmethodrequiresthattheteachershouldhavetheleadingeffects.accordingtotheanalysisofthe teachingmaterialandthestudents learningbackground, iwillusethefollowingmethods.part2teachingmethods:inmyopinion,themaininstructionalaimsoflearningenglishinthe middleschoolistodevelopthestudentsabilitiesoflistening, speaking,reading,writingandtheirgoodsenseoftheenglish language.soin thislessonillmainlyuse“communicative”activityand“task-based”activities. atthesametime,illmakeuseofthe modernelectricity teachingequipmentsandallkindsofteaching means,itcandevelop thesswriting abilityinlearningenglish.part3studyingmethods:as we know , our school students arent good at english ,especially writing compositions .so i will use “ observation- imitation - practice” .using the three methods teach the ss how to write a composition about places .part4teachingprocedure:step1lead-in.1.at first ,give ss a familiar topic to speak-introduce our school ,including the schools position ,area, population ,history, its surroundings and so on .2.then let ss fill in the blanks using proper words .purposeofmydesign: togetss toknowsomethingaboutsome words and phrases of places step2speakingfrom the sentences above ,ask the ss to conclude the words ,phrases ,sentence patterns about describing a place .1.read the words 2.read the phrases3.read the sentence patterns inthiscourse,sscanunderstandthemaincontentsofthisdialogue andgetthekeypointsstep3 practice of speaking1).individualwork withthe words, phrases and sentences remembered well ,let the one student introduce their villages to the others by imitating the example . purposeofmydesign: let ss speak some familiar placetheir village using the vocabulary above.2). pair workafter the individual work , ss grasp how to make the sentences with the vocabulary. then ask ss to introduce our city- zhongmu in pairs.step4furtherpractice give ss a topic , let ss write an introductive article about a place of interest they visited before .then ask ss to read it out .purposeofmydesign:todevelopthessabilityofcommunication.and theirabilityofcooperationwillbewelltrained.tellthess we shouldloveourhometown and even protect our globe. ifthesscanfinishthistaskwell,theywillbenefitalotintheirspoken english.bythisstep,itachievedtheteachingaimofunderstandingand talkingthedialogueofthislesson.step5homework.summarizethewholelesson, andarrangethehomework.1. describe our school(compulsory homework 必做)2. write an e-mail to your friend to introduce our city zhongmu (optional homework选做)attention: it should conclude its position ,population , area , history, place of interest , special local products and so on.purposeofmydesign:ithinkhomeworkissoimportantthatthess shouldspeakenglishasmuchastheycaninc
