This unit is mainly about clothes .The lesson is the second lessonof Unit 5. It mainly includes 2 parts: Just speak and Just write. In section 1, it mainly deals with these key words, “dress hat blouse”. And, in section 2, it deals with the dialogue: “Whats in it? Open it and see. Oh, a dress. Its pretty.” In this lesson we will learn how to give gifts to others.2.Teaching object It is about the students. Our students are in Grade 4 .They are active and curious, interested in new things. so the teacher should attach importance to the communication with them, providing them the chances of using language.3.Teaching aims.Knowledge and skills:a. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to listen,speak,read and use these words: hat, dress,blouse.b. To enable the Ss to understand and speak: “Whats in it? Open it and see. Oh, a dress. Its pretty.”c. By the end of the lesson, make sure that Ss can use these sentences in real situations.d. To develop Ss abilities of listening and speaking.e. To foster Ss abilities of communication and their innovation.Emotional attitudea. To make Ss how to be grateful.b. To make Ss love of our life and be get along with others.Learning strategiesa. To help students foster their abilities of working in groups.b. To foster Ss consciousness of good-cooperation and proper competition. c. To make Ss cultivate their abilities to analyze and solve problems independently. 4. Key-points of this lessona. To make sure that Ss can ask and answer the question: Whats in it?b. To develop Ss interest in English.5. Difficult pointsa. The sentences: Its pretty.b. To help the Ss ask and answer the question “Whats in it?” and make sure they can use the sentences correctly. 6. Teaching methodsIn this lesson, I will mainly use “Situational teaching method”, “Communicative language teaching method” and “TPR teaching method”, and so on. I will arrange four kinds of activities: singing, guessing game, finishing a survey and having a competition. And in this lesson picture cards, PPT, school things and a printed form will be needed. Students should prepare some gift boxes and cards.7.Teaching procedures and purposes of my designing. Ill finish this lesson in five steps.Step 1. Warm-up and reviewAfter greeting with the Ss, I will begin the lesson by speaking the words quickly.With the help of the PPT, I set a situation of my birthday gifts to review the words about clothes.Purpose:The purpose of this is to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss, and, at the same time, it provides situations to review the learned knowledge for the next step. Step 2. PresentationIt will cost about 9 mins.With the help of the PPT, I set a situation of my other birthday gift boxes to present the 3 words and the sentence:“Whats in it?”a. Do action and teach the words.b. Spell it.c. Playing a game “Whats missing?”d. Ask and answer.Purpose:After presenting each new word (by the guessing game), I will impart the knowledge of pronunciation rules in teaching the new words. Playing a game stimulation of Ss interest.By playing the PPT, present the sentences“Open it and see. Its pretty.” a. PPT show the fourth gift box,but it has no reaction.b.Take out the box,open it together,with saying:“Open it and see.”c.Work in pairs to practice the sentences.d. Act in pairs.Purpose:The purpose of this is to present the new sentences in the situation, which relates to the Ss real life experiences, to help the Ss understand the language easily and naturally.Present the text.a. PPT show a birthday party,and ask:“Do you want to know who has a birthday party? ”b.Listen and chose the answer. c.Listen and number.d.Listen,check it and follow to read.e.Listen and watch the video,try to follow it.Purpose:PPT can provide a real situation for the Ss to understand the dialogue.Doing activities can strengthen impression. Listening for 4 times can develop Ss abilities of listening.Step 3. Practice.Read by yourself.Follow to the video,without voice.Recite in group.Act in pairs with a birthday hat.Purpose:The purpose of this is to practice the text.In order to strengthening students sense of this language.To help Ss use the language in a real situation.Step 4. ConsolidationIn this step, make Ss listen and match.I set a real situation:“Mothers Birthday Party”.To let Ss make a new dialogue.Purpose:Do exercises can make consolidate the knowledge.The activity is to develop Ss ability of communication, and also, their ability of cooperation
