北京市2015高考英语 阅读和信息匹配四月自练11【2015高考复习】阅读理解 there are probably no people on earth who like to gossip (说闲话) as much as the british.if prying into others lives were an olympic sport, then team gb would surely take the gold medal.and when the british cant watch the lives of real people with glee, they have another source of entertainment to fall back onthe soap opera.british soap operas are very different to us tv dramas.for one, they are normally longer running.the two most popular, coronation street and eastenders, have been running for 48 and 24 years respectively.both are broadcast several times a week,so remarkably there have been more than 7,000 episodes of coronation street.the most obvious difference is that, unlike us dramas, the british soap operas focus on the real world.there is little glamour, the stars are rarely rich, and they normally have boring jobs.perhaps the appeal is that the lives of the characters often mirror the lives of the audiencebut with some drama added.this means the viewer can relate to the characters and feel the pain and happiness they go through on the show.because these soap operas last for decades, the cast is ever changing.the shows rarely focus on one or two main characters.like the real world, people come and go all the time.however, there are exceptions.coronation streets william roach,76,has played the role of ken barlow since the very first episode of the show in 1960,and he is still a regular.the choice of which soap opera you follow is often cultural:people from the north of british tend to watch coronation street as it is set in manchester.people from the south generally prefer eastenders, which is set in the east of london.the show is generally considered grittier and is aimed at a younger audience.【语篇解读】本文主要介绍了什么是英国的肥皂剧、英国肥皂剧与美国电视剧的区别、英国肥皂剧的主要特点以及英国人喜欢看英国肥皂剧的主要原因。1what does this passage mainly talk about?abritish people like to know things about other people.bbritish team can get then answer the questions or complete the statements in the fewest possible words.a finding in recent years shows that men cannot manufacture blood as efficiently as women can. this makes surgery riskier for men. men also need more oxygen because they do not breathe as often as women. but men breathe more deeply and this exposes them to another risk. they draw more of the air into their lungs when it is polluted.mens bones are larger than womens and they are arranged somewhat differently. the female walk that causes so many whistles is a matter of bone structure. a man has broader shoulders and a narrower pelvis(骨盆), which makes him walk with no waste motion. a womans wider pelvis, designed for childbearing, forces her to put more movement into each step she takes with the result that she displays a bit of jiggle and sway(摇摆) as she walks.if you think a man is brave because he can climb a ladder to clean the roof, dont forget it is easier for him than for a woman. the angle at which a womans thigh(大腿) is joined to her knees makes climbing difficult for her, whether it is a ladder or stairs or a mountain that she is climbing.a mans skin is thicker than a womans and not nearly as soft. this prevents the suns radiation from getting through, which is why men wrinkle less than women do. women have a thin layer of fat just under the skin and there is a plus to this greater fat reserve. it acts as an invisible fur coat to keep a woman warmer in the winter. women also stay cooler in summer because the fat layer helps protect them against heat. mens fat is distributed differently. and they do not have that layer of it underneath their skin. in fact, they have considerably less fat than women and more muscle. 41 percent of a mans body is muscle compared to thirty-five percent for women, which means that men have more muscle power. the higher proportion of muscle to fat makes it easier for men to lose weight. muscle burns up five more calories a pound than fat does just to maintain itself. so when a man wants to lose weight, the pounds roll off much faster. (note: answer the questions or complete the statements in no more than ten words.)81. what is this passage mainly about? _82. that men breathe more deeply can result in a risk of _.83. the female walk with a bit of jiggle and sway is caused by the fact that _.84. why do women lose weight more difficultly than men? _【参考答案】81. some differences between mens bodies and womens bodies.82. their suffering more from air pollution/their drawing more polluted air into their lungs83. women have a wider pelvis84. because women have more fat and less muscle than men./ because women has a lower proportion of muscle to fat.【2014高考英语陕西省西安市第一中学二模】情景对话(共5小题,每小题1分,满分5分)根据对话情景和内容,从对话后所给的选项
