Students will try to identify things in English, pronounce and spell them correctly based on knowing well about the letters “I-R”.II.The analysis of teaching materials:The students in Grade 7 are very active and interested in fresh things around them. They are sensitive to the pronunciations of a new foreign language, and very eager to know and show how to talk about things in English.III.Teaching Objectives:1. Language knowlege and skills: 1) Letters I-R 2) Identify things 3) spell words.2.Teaching procedures and learning strategies: listen, practice, sing a letter song, play games, have a brainstorm, show word cards. 3. Emotion attitude: students are aroused interests to things around them, they are activated strong willings to describe this world in another foreign language.IV. Teaching importances and difficulties:1. Importances: 1) Listen, read and spell, write letters I-R.2) How to write and use big letters and small letters in a sentence correctly.(e.g: Whats this? M-A-P.)3) Learn alphabetical order well.4) Find out the rules of pronouncing “A”E”I”O” and try to read the new words with “a”e”i”o”correctly.5) Words: listen, read, indentify and spell the words with letters I-R.2. Difficulties:1) The singular forms of countable nouns, how to add “a”an”before the countable nouns.2) Ask: .this/ that. Answer: Its .(不是this/ that来回答)3) Know special meanings for letters in our daily life, such as: P, NBA, kg.V. Teaching Procedure:3 parts for starter Unit 2: Letters, words and sentences.Part 1: Letters1) Review letters from “a-h”2) Learn new letters from “i-r”5 Steps:Activate (激活):1)Sing an English letter song: A B C D E F G.2) Play a game “Letter-chain”: Students say the letter in order one by one. (Finish 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 4a, 4b)Build (构建): 1)Show the students how to read, spell and write the letters correctly on the blackboard (Both big and small forms.)2)Ask the students to practice writing. (Finish 2c,2d.)Cultivate (养成):1) Teach the students how to make the pronunciation of the letter in a word and ask them to find out the rules. (4C)2) Encourage students to pronounce new words based on knowing the rules. Show more examples and ask them to have a competition to see who pronounces new words best and most. (Finish 4d)Develop (发展):1) “2e”: P-Park; NBA-National Basketball Association; kg-kilogram.2) Ask students to have a brainstorm, list as many examples as possible.3) Set it as homework, collect more after class.Evaluate (评价):1) Present students writing homework about “I-R”, and remark A+,A,A-.for each one, and appreciate good ones with students together.2) Play a “guessing game” for special letter meanings by collecting students homework.Part 2: Words1) Listen, read and repeat.
