Language Objectives:After reading the target C-E sentences, students are able to have a clear understanding of the test focus. Meanwhile, they are also able to recognize the target words and expressions that they are supposed to write down in the part of “complete sentences”. They should be able to deal with the problems efficiently. To be specific, they are expected to have the abilities to analyze the part of speech of the target expressions as well as figuring out the mistakes that they are supposed to avoid. Finally, they should be able to generalize the corresponding skills which can be used in the tests to solve practical problems in each category.2. Ability Objectives:After the class, students are able to deal with the problems in “complete sentences” in correct steps and efficiently apply the skills they have generalized in class to the actual use in exam.3. Emotional Objective:Students can be more confident towards the test of 2017.4. Lead-in:Clarify the problem that the Ss have met in the previous simulation tests and lead in the topic of this lesson . Explain the test focus of the English High School Entrance Exam of 2017 and guide students to pay attention to the key words for solve problems. 2. Exploration of problems and solutions:1) Task 1- Explore the specific focuses of the test. Have Ss read the C-E sentences in the High School Entrance Exam from 2012 to 2017 and circle the missing expressions in the Chinese version. Analyze the part of speech of the expressions theyve circled to figure out the test frequency of each category so as to clarify what they should pay much attention to in the exam. Conclusion: Step 1 - To solve the problems efficiently, Ss should compare sentences in Chinese and English carefully and underline the missing part so as to clarify the words or phrases they should write down.2) Task 2- Target expression analysis & Generalization of test skills. Have Ss finish the sentences on the worksheet first and then analyze the answers in the sentences and try to figure out the mistakes that they are supposed to avoid as well as the relevant skills which can be used in the tests. Conclusion: Step 2 - To solve the problems efficiently, Ss should analyze the part of speech of the target words or phrases within the sentence patterns to make sure they can get the correct expressions. Conclusion: Step 3 - To solve the problems efficiently, Ss should check the sentences again to make sure they can get the correct expressions. To be more specific, attention should be attached to grammar, spelling, capital letter as well as neat handwriting in the right position. 3. In-class practice: By finishing the sentences in the sample tests for 2017, Ss are encouraged to apply what they have learnt previously to the actual practice. 4. Summary & Homework 1) Lead Ss to generalize the correct steps of completing sentences. 2) Assign the homework to consolidate the knowledge after class: 1) Have Ss finish the exercises on the worksheet ; 2) Have Ss look through the exam papers and exercise books to generalize the mistakes that they have repeatedly made so as to avoid them in future.
