西安市长安兴国初级中学课堂教学设计科目: 英语 教师: 李漾 年级:九年级课题Unit 4 I used to be afraid of the dark (Section A 3a 3c )授课班级Class8, Grade 9 教学目标 The teaching objectives are established according to Junior School English syllabus provision. 1. 知识目标(Knowledge objects) (1) Students should master the following words and phrases such as : deal with, take up, tons of, private and guard; (2) Students should learn something about Candy Wang;(3)Students should grasp the main idea of reading and use the information to talk to others about their own changes by learning the article of this lesson. 2.能力目标(Ability objects) (1) To develop the Ss abilities of speaking, and reading (2) To train the Ss ability of working in pairs. 3.情感目标(Moral objects) (1) To enable the Ss how to talk about their changes. (2) To enable the Ss to be brave while achieving their dreams. 教学重难点The teaching key and difficult points basis is established according to Section A of Unit 4 in the teaching materials position and function. 1. 教学重点(Key points)(1).To help the Ss to communicate with each other. (2).To enable the Ss to study in groups and co-operate skillfully. (3) To improve the Ss abilities of getting and dealing with information by reading. 2. 教学难点(Difficult points)(1) How to talk about their changes. (2) How to write the right whole sentences. 教具选择Teaching AidsMulti-media computer, Power-point will be needed in this lesson. The teaching syllabus says that its necessary for teachers to use modern teaching facilities. Its of great help to increase the class density and improve our teaching result. It can also make the Ss reach a better understanding of the text by making the classes lively and interesting. At the same time, it arouses the Ss interest in learning English.学情分析Analysis of the Students The students have learnt 1a-2d of section A, and they can understand some words and the usage of used to. It makes it easier for us to talk about this article at the beginning of reading.ButtheydontoftenuseEnglishtoexpressthemselvesandcommunicatewithothers.SomeSsarenotactiveintheclassbecausetheyareafraidofmakingmistakes.教学方法The Teaching Methods In this lesson, teaching methods include:1. Communicative teaching method 2. Task-based” teaching method As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to cultivate students abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use “Communicative” teaching method, and “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, Ill let the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure of the article. Ill give the Ss some tasks and arrange some activities. I think these methods are helpful to develop the Ss thought.教学过程(Teaching Procedures)Step I. Free talk and lead in.Task: Talk about some famous stars Ss like and introduce Candy Wang to them.Purpose: Arouse Ss interests of this class.Step II. Pre- reading Task: Ask Ss to read the title, and try to find out some information from the title.Purpose: Predict the content of this article, and it will help the students understand the context.Step III. While-readingHere are two tasks in this part, they are fast reading, and careful reading.Task 1. Fast reading.1. Ask students to read the passage quickly and finish exercise 3a, then sum up with one word of each paragraph. 2. Check answers.Purpose: Fast reading, it will help Ss get the main idea of the article. It will help the Ss go to the next step for careful reading.Task 2. Careful reading.Ask SS to read the passage paragraph by paragraph, here are 2 activities of each paragraph:Activity1: Read each paragraph and answer some related questions and check answers.Purpose: Ss have a careful reading to find out some details. This step will help students to make a mind map, and pave a way for next part: retell the passage.Activity2: Retell the passage paragraph by paragraph.Purpose: This step will help students memorize the main information of each paragraph, and also help students to output the information with the target language. It can also consolidate the target language by using them.Step IV. Post reading.Task1 : Ask students to make a dialogue between an interviewer and Candy Wang. Task 2: Ask students to show their performance.Purpose: By interviewing, students can transform the passage into a conversation, it will help the students to use the target language. Also it can test the students how much they have mastered the passage. Whats more, this task can also improve Students reading and speaking skills, and test their communicative skills. By doing this, students can put what they learnt into the real situation.Step V: Homework.Task: Give one mechanical homework and one communicative homework to students. 1. Try to find out the phrases and translate into Chinese.2. Interview Candy Wang and write it down.Purpose: Different students have different homework. I set up two kinds of homework, the first one is a mechanical homework, most students can do it. While doing this homework, it can lead students to read the article again. While reading, they must find these phrases and translate them into Chinese. The second homework is for the better students. With the help of their partner and teacher, top students can do it well.
