Develop students listening and speaking skills.难点Learn to talk about how things affect you using make.课前准备A tape recorder and some word cards with the name of places.教学过程Step I Warm upT: Good moring, class. It is so cold today.The weather here makes me sad. Now lets first play a game to warm up the class.Ask students to say as many sentences as possible using “ make me + infinitive”, “make me +adjective” structures. The one who says such sentences the most will get a prize.Step II PresentationTeach activities 1a &1b.These two activities are designed to help students learn the target language through the ending of the story about the unhappy king.First, intive a student to retell the story about the unhappy king.Ask students to guess the possible ending of the story. Encourage students to imagine bravely.After that, lead students to read the instruction of 1a and the statements in the box to know what to do in this activity and how to do it.Divide students into groups to talk about the possible endings.As they work, move around the room checking their progress and offering language support as needed.Finally, invite some students to choose their favorite ending and express their opinion.Step III Pratice Teach activities 1c&1d.This part is designed to help students to consolidate the target language through listening practice.First, lead students to read the instructions to know what to do and how to do them.Invite a students to read the statements in 1c , ask other students carefully and get their meanings.Play the tape first, students listen carefully and check the things that happened in the rest of the story.Play it again for students to check their work.After that, ask students to have a quick look at the questoins in 1d.Play the tape for students to listen, they need to grasp the key words and phrases to take short notes for the questions.Play the tape one more time to help students complete their answers to the questions.Finally, invite some students to present their answers. Correct mistakes if any.Step IV ConsolidationTeach activity 1e.This activity aims to help students to master the target language through a group work.First , lead students to read the instruction to know what to do in this activity .Then, put students into groups to discuss about the poor mans thoughts about happiness. At the same time , they also can talk about their own opinion on happiness.Give students enough time to do this work.As they work, move around the room checking the progress and offering language assistance as needed.Finally , intive several students to present their opinion .Step V Summy In this period, we mainly learned the ending of the story about the unhappy king through some listening and speaking practice . Through the different tasks , we also consolidated the target language and mastered the use
