Give students some time to look at the cartoon on SB, page 15. Tell them to read the sentences carefully.2. Meaning of the cartoon: The joke in the cartoon is based on a pun. The words a haircut can have two meanings. First, a haircut is a noun and refers to the act of having ones hair cut. Second, a hair cut is a noun and a past participle, and means that the person would like one hair to be cut. Since the speaker seems to have just a few individual hairs, we can understand the joke without the need for a long explanation.
