Unit 10 You are supposed to shake hands Section A 1a-2d 教学设计【语言知识目标】 1.掌握下列单词和短语:custom,bow,kiss,greet,be supposed to do,be expected to do,for the first time,shake hands,as soon as,to ones surprise 2.理解并掌握下列句子:What are people in Korea supposed to do when they meet for the first time?In the United States,theyre expected to shake hands.3.掌握语法:be supposed /expected to do sth.【情感与态度】Different countries have different customs ,so do in Rome as a Roman does.【策略与意识】Listen for specific information.【教学重点】掌握本部分出现的生词和词组,达到熟练运用的目标。 【教学难点】1.进行听力训练,提高综合听说能力。 2.训练学生的语言交际能力。Step 1Warming up1.Greetings.2.Check homework.Step 2New words(1)Read the new words together.(加强读音训练)(2)Ask some individuals to read the new words.(发现读音问题,正音)(课前朗读可使学生快速进入学习状态,养成良好的学习习惯。)Step 3Leading in T:Is it a good idea to come to class late?S1:No.T:Thats right. Youre not supposed/expected to come to class late.Get the students to say what other things they are not supposed to do and what they are supposed to do at school,using the expression:be (not)supposed/ expected to.(大脑风暴,打开学生思维,初步感知目标语言。)Step 4Listening1.Before listening(1)As we all know,we are supposed to shake hands when we meet in China. What other customs of greeting people do you know?Show some pictures of greeting customs.A:What are they supposed to do when they meet someone for the first time?B:They are supposed to .Show the students some pictures and learn :shake hands ; kiss; bow(进一步感知目标语言,为下面的听力做铺垫。)(2)Review the names of the following countries using a map: China,Japan,Korea,USA,Brazil,Mexico 2.While listening(输入目标语言,为下面的语言输出做铺垫。)Do you know what are people supposed to do in these countries when they meet someone for the first time?Get the students to listen to the tape and complete the chart.CountriesCustomsBrazilThe United StatesJapanMexicoKoreaAnswers:kiss;shake hands;bow;shake hands;bow3.Post listening(1)Read the conversation aloud after the tape .
