Victoria QueenVictoria Queen(1891-1901) ,queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and empress of India. Her reign of 63 years and 7 months ,which is the longest of any monarch in British history and to be known as Victorian era. During her reign ,she had done a lot of things to England and other countries which was controversy. Now let us learn about something about her together.一.Something About Victoria (queen) herselfQueen Victoria was born on May 24,1819, in London. Her mother was Victoria Mary Louisa who was the daughter of the German principality of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. And her father was Edward Augustus, duke of Kent and Strathern , the fourth son of King George III of Great Britain. Her father was died when she was eight months old. Her childhood was not as happy as other children because she had to learn a lot of things such as French, piano, paint, history, geography and so on.In 1840 ,she married her first cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and they fall in love with each other very much. Unfortunately, her husband died when she was in her middle age, which was another difficulty in her life.二 Contribution To England .During her reign ,she had done a lot of contribution to her motherland and because of her effort ,England was known as Empire of Sun all over the world.1 When she became the queen of England at her 18, England had only a few railway but a crissoross network of railways when she passed away.2 In order to show the prosper and power of England , the first World Exposition was held in London in 1851.3 At the aspet of science and culture the world famous writer Charles Dickens and scientist Charles Robert Darwin was both in Victorian era.4 In Victorian era ,England had already achieve free primary education in 1891.5 And a famous event in Victorian era was the Womens voting right which had great influence on England.6 As the improvement of science and technology in her reign, peoples life is becoming more and more convenient .Such as the sanitary sewer system (污水排放系统) and filament lamp(白炽灯) was emerged in Victorian era.三 Victoria queen and Opium War(鸦片战争)However, even though she had done many contribution to her own country ,but her aggressive policy was not a good thing to the Improving country, such as India and China.As the improvement of the oversea trade, its own market can not satisfy its need. So England wants to expend its oversea market ,and China,India had became its quarry.That is why England was called the Empress of India.1840.1.6,Victoria had perform the right of warn at the speech, she said that she had noticed the benefit at China and dignity of country closely.
