Unit 1 My Classroom Dear leaders and teachers,Good morning! Today I would like to analyze the first lesson of Part A of unit 1 “My Classroom”, including “Lets learn” and “Lets do”. 一、 Teaching materials This class is from book one of PEP Grade Four. It is part A “Lets learn” and “Lets do”. There are 36 Ss in my class, and I will separate them into 6 groups.二Teaching aims And from this class, I want my Ss can listen, read, say and recognize the new words “window, door, board, picture and light” and the sentence pattern “whats in this classroom”; I also hope them can apply this new knowledge in certain context. In addition, they should learn to chant “Lets do” and do the action. After this class, I want Ss know the importance of teamwork, and also try to develop a habit of thinking, practicing and creating by themselves. They begin to know the value of what they have owned today and cherish them; they can understand others need and help others when appropriate.三 Main points and difficult pointsThe main points of this lesson of course are the words “window, door, board, picture, light” and the sentence pattern “whats in this classroom”. And how to apply them in certain context is a difficult point for Ss.四 Teaching aidsIn this lesson, I will use blackboard, PPT, computer and picture cards as my teaching aids. 五 Teaching procedure Anyway, what I said above is only theory. The most important part is teaching procedure. And I separate it into 5 parts. They are warm-up, presentation, practice, task and homework.(一) warming-up Warming-up is the first part of a lesson. I am going to draw the Ss attention and help them concentrate on class by greetings. And then I will guide the Ss to do “lets do” together, like this:Open the door, door, doorTurn on the light, light, lightSweep the floor, floor, floorClean the window, window, windowPut up the picture, picture, pictureClean the board, board, boardTo some extents, Ss will know what they are going to learn through this chent. It means they have a whole perception of the language points. And after this perception, I will present the new language points by setting a context.(二) Presentation 1. Context setting First, I lead to the topic by saying “I would like to show you a classroom, and can you tell me what you can see in this classroom”. This is a thread of the whole lesson. And I will lead them to answer “a window, two lights”. With the help of the context, I can lead in the topic naturally and lead Ss to think.After a brief introduction of this, I will ask Ss “do you like this classroom?” and most of them might say “no” because the classroom I show them in the PPT is an old and dirty classroom. Then, I will ask them the reasons why they dont like this classroom and how to perfect it.For example, the Ss think the classroom is dirty, so we should “clean the window” and “sweep the floor”. That is to say, I will lead the questions back to todays new knowledge. And then, I will teach the new words one by one with the help of games below.2. Words games 2.1 Sharp eyeFirst of all, I will lead Ss play Sharp eye. I will let them to pay attention to the screen and ask them to catch the sight of the flash picture, and tell me what they can see. With this game, I can get the Ss attention again and they can review the new words with these pictures. 2.2 Lets doThen, I am going to lead the Ss to review the chant in the warm-up once. And I will add the important sentence in the chant like:Whats in the classroom?Window, window, window.Clean the window, clean the window.By chanting it, Ss can practice the sentence and review the words. And with the help of the chant, Ss can also remember the words much easier.In addition, when teaching this chant, I would like to pay attention to the pronunciation and teach them how to recognize and sound the words.(三) PracticeAfter the funny games, I would like to lead the Ss back to the context and let them think and talk so that they can consolidate todays knowledge. I am going to set two more classrooms which are a little different from the first one. I will ask Ss with the sentence “whats in the classroom” when showing the second classroom, and Ss just need to answer what they can see. And I will let Ss use the third classroom to make a dialogue with the partners by themselves so that they can try to apply the new knowledge in this context. I will give them 2min to prepare, and then ask two groups to do presentation.(四) TaskWith the re-practice, Ss have grasped the usage of the words and sentence on the whole. And I am going to give them a task. In this part, they not only need to apply the new knowledge with their group mates, but also try to create something I havent show them.I will explain that the first classroom, the old and dirty one, is for the poor children and they need a new classroom because this classroom is too old and too dangerous. So I will ask “can you design a new classroom for these children? What should be in the classroom? ”I will distribute a piece of paper to each group and ask them to work with their group mates and figure out the perfect classroom.5min later, I will ask one S from each group to go out and to show their work.With this task, Ss can not only try their best to apply the new knowledge, but also learn to help others who need help with their creativity. And I know, through this activity, Ss can also get to know the value of what they have owned today.(五) HomeworkFinally, their homework is: re-draw the new classroom and write down the names of everything in this classroom.
