Language knowlegde and skills: 1)Vocabulary: take out the rubbish,do the dishes,sweep the floor,fold the clothes,get a ride,stay out late 2) Sentence structures: A: Could I go out for dinner with my friends? B: Sure, that should be OK. A: Could I stay out late until eleven? B: No, you cant. You have a basketball game.3).At the end of class , Ss will be able to(1)Ask for permissions in a polite way by using modal verb “could”. (2) Refuse others requests in a polite way and give good reasons. 2. Teaching procedures and learning strategies: 1) Guesing game 2) Presentation3) Listening practice4) Group work and pariwork 5) Role-play 3. Emotional attitude: To make students cherish the friendship with others and try to be polite when askingfor permissions. To encourage students to help their parents with household chores.Teaching Procedure:Step 1: 1.Warming-up (第一步:自学质疑,创设问题情境) Greet to students. Create a real situation of having a birthday party and invite students to my house. T: Today is my birthday and Im going to hold a birthday party in my house. Look at my house. What do you think of it? (The teacher shows a picture of a dirty room.) Ss: Its dirty. 2. Lead-in Guessing game: Listen and guess the chores. T: My house is dirty. What do I need to do? Lets listen and guess. (The teacher plays the sound of household chores) Ss: You need to take out the rubbish. You need to fold the clothes. You need to sweep the floor. You need to do the dishes. .Step 2: Presentation (导学质疑,问题定向) 1. Present 3 different ways of making requests. T: Here are three students, Hui Tailang, Xi yangyang and Mei Yangyang. They are very happy and they all want to come to my house.? (The teacher shows what they say.)“I want to go to the party.” Says Hui Tailang.“Can I go to the party?” Says Xi Yangyang.“Could I go to your party?” Says Mei Yangyang. 2. Ask students to find out which one is the politest one.T: Who will I invite? T: Maybe Hui Tailang is polite. Xi Yangyang is more polite and Meiyang yang is the most polite. So I will invite Meiyangyang. 3. The teacher sums up the most polite way to ask for permissions.T: “Could I ” is a polite way to make a request. 4. Practice: Ask students to help Hui Tailang ask for permissions in a polite way. T: Hui Tailang has some other requests. Lets help him to be more polite.Hui Tailang: wants to borrow your dictionary. wants to use your bike. wants to go to the movies with you. wants to get a ride. 。Step 3: Listening 1. 2a. Listen. Peter asks his father if he can do four things. What does his father say? Check() yes or no. T: What does Peter wants to do?How does Peters father refuse him? 2. 2b. Listen again. Why does Peters father say “no”? Find the reasons in the chart in 2a. Peter: Could I stay out late until 11? Dad: No, you cant. You . Peter: Could I use the car? Dad: Sorry, I have to go to work. 3. The teacher sum up the polite way to refuse others requests. Step 4: Discussion (互学探究,释疑互动) 1. Discussion: Help me to refuse others requests and try to give a good reason.Could I borrow some money from you? -A friend. Could I buy some cakes? -A friend of mine who needs to lose weight Could I bring my mobile phone to school? -My students 2. Pair work: Make up conversations by using the target language. T: Hui tailing has a lovely son, named Xiao Huihui. He is always very naughty and wants to do many things. Choose 3 or 4 things he wants to do and make up short conversations between Xiao Huihui and his dad.Step 5: Role-play (练学迁移,创建思维) 1. Read and complete the story.Meiyang yang and Xiyangyang were angry with each other, and they didnt speak to each other. When they wanted to say something, they wrote it down. One day, Mei Yangyang wanted to use Xi Yangyangs car, so she wrote: .And Xi Yangyang answered: .And Mei Yangyang was very unhappy.Once Xi Yangyang had to get up at 7 oclock in the morning so he asked Mei Yangyang to wake him up(叫醒).
