Its cloudy. 2) Be able to describe the weather and what people are doing.二、教学重难点1. 教学重点:1) Master the words about the weather: rain, windy, cloudy, sunny, snow, weather,etc.2) Talk about the weather using the target language:Hows the weather?Its raining/ windy.3) What are you doing?Im playing basketball.2. 教学难点: :Be able to describe the weather and what people are doing.三、教学过程Step 1 Warming-up and revision 1. Greet the students; 2. Review the present progressive tense.Step 2 Presentation 1. Show some pictures about weather. Let students look at the pictures and ask them how the weather is. Then teach them to learn the words of weather: windy, cloudy, rain, snow, sunny, weather, Moscow, Boston, Toronto. And then tell students that the sentences “Hows the weather?”and “Whats the weather like?”are the way to ask the weather. And the answer is “Its +天气形容词”. 描述天气的形容词:天气名词+y:wind-windy; cloud-cloudy; rain-rainy;snow-snowy; sun-sunny;2. Look at the pictures in 1a. Then read the new words on the right. Ask the students to match the words with the pictures. 3. Check the answers.Step 3 Listening 1. Now lets look at the city names in the box in 1b. Please read after me. Students read the cities after the teacher.2. Now, youll hear four conversations. Listen carefully to the fist time then find out each city in the picture according to the tape. Play the recording a second time. Ask students to write down the names of the cities in the picture of its weather. 3. Check the answers.Step 4 Pair work 1. Show a picture of Beijing. Ask students,”Hows the weather in Beijing?”,Then ask students to answer. 2. Show other pictures of city and weather. Then ask students to practice in groups.Step 5 Listening 1. Look at the pictures of 2a. Joes family is very busy. Letsseewhat theyare doing.Pointtothe4pictures. Askstudents to tellwhat eachpersonisdoingineachpicture.Moreattentionsshouldbepaid tothecorrectuseofthePresentProgressiveTense.3. Play the recording for the students to listen and number the pictures 1-4. Playthetapeagain forstudentstocheck the answers .4.Play the tape a second time then match the names with the activities in 2b. Play the recording again for the students to check the answers.Step 6 Pair work1. Show some pictures and ask students to talk about what people are doing in pairs.2.
