Section A河棚中心学校教师:潘能田 班级:七(2)班1、 Teaching aims1.Knowledge goalsVocabulary:hair,curly,straight,height,tall,thin,heavy,medium,build.Sentence pattern:-What does he /she look like?-He/She is tall and has long hair.-What do you look like?-I am short and have short black hair.2. Ability goals: Learn to describe the appearance of a person.3.Emotion goals: Let students learn to describe people in a friendly way.2、 Key teaching points Master the new words ,sentence patterns and how to describe a persons appearance.三、Teaching difficult point Grasp the correct way to use have verbs and be verbs to describe the appearance of a person.4、 Teaching methods 1.Task-based Language Teaching Designing multiple task activities,providing students with room and time for cooperation and communication,and enabling students to collaborate and explore learning for assignments or tasks. 2.Multimedia Assisted Instruction It uses multimedia to run through the whole teaching process,enhances the audiovisual and interesting of the teaching ,and improves the teaching efficiency. 五、Teaching process Step I Warming-up and revision 1.Find two students with different looks to compare. A girl(tall and heavy), a boy(short and thin).Let students talk about them. Then draw out the topic of this unit.(Unit 9 What does he look like?) 2.Revise the words and expressions. short hair tall long hair short straight hair thin curly hair heavy black hair of medium build brown hair of medium height blonde hair good-looking Step II Presentation Show some pictures on the screen and practice the sentence pattern. -What does your brother/sister look like? -He is /She is He/She has Step III Comparing eyesight Show some photos of different people and let students describe them.Step IV PresentationComplete the conversation with the correct words. 1.-What does your aunt look like? -She has long curly hair. And she is of medium height. She is a little heavy.2.-What does your math teacher look like? -He has short straight hair. -He is short and of medium build.Step V Activities 1a and 1b 1.Match the words with the people in the picture. Answers:1.e 2.b 3.a 4.a/f 5.h 6.f 7.g 8.c 9.d 10.a/e/g. 2.Listen and fill in the blanks in the picture above. Please find Amys friend. Answers:tall,curly hair.Step VI Activity 1cDescribe some of their teachers and let them find him or her.Step VII SummaryIn this period ,we have learned how to ask about and describe peoples looks. When we practice the conversation,special attention should be paid to the use of “has”and “is”.Step VIII Homework1.
