Unit 6 Im watching TV.Section A(1a-2c)澄迈县白莲中学 陈晓丽一、教材分析人教新目标英语七年级下册Unit 6 Im watching TV.本节课内容设计是围绕“everyday activities”这一个话题“谈论现在正在进行或发生的动作”,主要的教学内容是现在进行时,以“What are you doing?”为主题。这一话题贴近学生的日常生活,语言素材源于学生生活实际,因此有助于提高学生学习英语的兴趣。二、教学目标:(知识目标、能力目标、情感目标)知识目标:A、学习并掌握动词的现在分词形式,如:doing,reading,talking, cleaning, eating, watchingB、学会初步运用现在进行时描述人们正在做的事。能力目标:学会就身边正在发生的事进行描述。情感目标:通过本节课的学习,教育学生要善于观察周围事物,发现生活中的美,热爱生活。三、教学重点和难点重点:A、学习现在分词的变化规则和现在进行时的基本形式。B、学会初步用现在进行时描述人们正在做什么。难点:A、掌握现在分词的变化规则B、用现在进行时简单描述人们正在做什么。四、教具图片、表格、录音机和多媒体五、教学过程Step 1: Revision and lead-inReview some verb phrases:T: Look at the picture. Who can name the activity?(Show the students a picture of watching TV).S1: “watch TV”T: And what about this picture?S2: “do homework”.T: What about these pictures?S3: “play soccer”.S4: “go shopping” S5: “eat dinner”Step 2 Presentation 1、Present the verb phrasesT: What about this one?(Show a flash that a girl is reading a book)Ss: Read a book.T: Yeah. Please read after me, “read a book”.Ss: “read a book”(Get the students to repeat “read a book”. And then “teach talk on the phone, clean the room” in the same way.)2、Ask the Ss to read the verb phrases.(Get Ss read the verb phrases together.)3、Present the new structures.T: Now, I would like you to listen to an English song. When you listen to the song, please try to catch the sentences of the song show the Ss the English song. T: Do you understand the sentences of the song? They are about the present continuous tense. Lets look at the picture. Look, this is me. What do I usually do on Sundays?(Show Ss a picture of do homework.)S: You usually do your homework.T: Yes, I usually do my homework on Sundays. But now I am watching TV. (Show Ss a flash of watching TV. Then write the sentences on the Bb.) Read after me. I am watching TV now.(Get the Ss to repeat “I am watching TV now.”)Ss: I am watching TV now.T: Look at this picture. What is Mary doing now? ( show Ss another flash of reading a book and help the Ss to say.) She is reading a book now. (Write the sentence on Bb.)T: Read after me “She is reading a book now.”Ss: She is reading a book now.(Show the flashes of eating dinner, cleaning the room, talking on the phone in the same way.)4、Drilling T: What about you? What are you doing now? (Ask some Ss)S1: Now Im speaking. ( Help Ss if necessary.)S2: Im standing.S3: Im having English class.(Ask Ss to say more sentences like this.)Step 3 Practice1、Match the wordsT: Good. Now please open your books and turn to P25. Read the words in 1a and match the words with the activities in the picture. The first 1 has already done. Its D. What about No.2?S1: ItsT: Whats No. 3?S2: ItsT: Whats No. 4, 5 and 6?Ss: Its(Ask the students to show the answers and check them.)2. Read the phrases together.T: Just now you did a good job. And I believe you all can read the new phrases loudly, right? Now please read the phrases together.(Ask the student to read the verb phrases together.)3. ListeningT: Jenny, Dave, Mary and John are my friends. But I dont know what they are doing now. Do you know what they are doing now? Ok, lets listen to the tape. Maybe it knows. Before we listen to the records, lets read the three items of 1b. Now, Ill play the tape for you. Are you ready? Please listen to the tape carefully, and then help me find out what they are doing now.(Play the recording of 1b for the first time. Ss only listen.)T: Now Id like you to listen to the tape again and write the numbers of the activity each person is doing.(Play the recording again. This time students write the numbers.)T: Have you got your answers? Lets check the answers together.Ss:(Ask the Ss to show the answers and correct them.)(Go with 2a and 2b in the same way.)4. Play a gameT: Well done. Lets play a game for relaxing. (Ask the Ss to play a game like this. Ask a boy to do an action. The other boys choose a girl to guesses what the action it is. The following sentences should be use: What is he doing? Hes reading. /cleaning) (Teacher performs an action “read a book” and asks a student with “What am I doing?”.)S: “reading a book”.(Ask a boy to perform an action.)(The boy is performing play basketball)Bs: “Whats he doing?”Gs: Hes playing basketball.5. Group workT: Ok, lets look at the Bb and read the dialogue together. ( Have the Ss read the following sample conversation together and then guide the Ss to work in groups go practice their own conversations. Then check some groups and give them comments.) S1: Hello, Jack. What are you doing now?S2: Hi, Tom. Im reading a book.S3: What is Tom doing, Mary?S4: He is reading a book.Step 4 Make a surveyT: We know Jenny is watching TV, Dave and Mary are eating dinner, John is doing his homework now. Do you want to know what your classmates are doing now?
