Unit4 Dont eat in class (1a-2c).Part 1.Analysis of the teaching material1.status and functionThis is an important part in the book.The language goal is to talk about and make some rules. Such a topic is related to our life , and in the book , there are many colorful pictures and interesting conversations that the students are interested in, so it is helpful to arouse learning interests of Ss. Besides this, it also can help them to change our bad behavior and form the good one.2.analysis of the students.The students we are facing are the children of13-14, they are clever , active and full of curiosity. As a child, they have many things that they have to do, and many things they cant do, so they are familiar with such rules in their life, so this topic can greatly attract their interests, and they will have many things to say.3.Teaching aims and demandsKnowledge objects-To study the new words and phrases: rule, fight, hallway, have to, arrive late for school, on time.-To master the modal verbs “can” - Get Ss to be familiar with the sentence patterns: Do sth, Dont do sth, What are the rules ?No talking!Ability objects:- through the practice of listening and speaking, ss can simply talk about the rules.-enable the Ss to master the language goals better, and they can express their own opinions with these.Moral objects-By learning the rules, Ss can change their bad behavior.-Make Ss to know the importance of obeying rules and try to be better.Teaching important points and difficult points-New words and phrases-Sentence patterns-Enable the students to use the language goals to talk about the rules. Part two-Teaching methods and aidsTask-based teaching method, communicative teaching method, watch-and-listen method, free discussion method, a tape recorder, a blackboard, and multi-mediaPart three-Studying methods-individual studying method. Students should preview this part by themselves.-working in pairs or groups.Part four. Teaching stepsAs this unit plays an important part in the book, I have decided the following steps to train their ability of listening , speaking reading and writing, especially reading and speaking ability.The entire steps are:Step 1.Warm-up and lead-inPlay a song first, then ask Ss “What do you think of the song”? “Do you like it?” After hearing their answers, I will ask “Can I listen to it in the classroom?” The Ss will say “No”. Then the teacher will tell them “In different places, there are different rules(explain rule),today we will learn some school rules.” Purpose of my designing: Music is familiar to the Ss, and they like it very much. Through their answers, they will know todays lesson has something to do with their discussion. Step 2.presentation1. learn the new words and phrases. Show them some pictures about these words and teach them to read and spell them. Then look at the picture in 1a, ask the student to think about what rules are the students breaking, then finish it.Purpose of my designing: After seeing the pictures, the Ss will know what they are and they can learn them quickly and easily.2. listening. Play the tape recorder. Let the Ss listen and finish 1b for the first time. Then the second time, ask Ss to repeat the conversation. Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation. Purpose of my designing: This step is employed to make the Ss get the general idea of the conversation. At the same time, let the Ss to practice their listening and speaking abilities.3. give Ss 2-3 minutes to practice the conversation with their partner. If needed, the teacher can give them some help. Then ask some pairs of them to show in class.Purpose of my designing: By practicing with the partner, Ss can feel the real situation about the conversation and they will correct the mistakes of each other, and master the knowledge better.4. listen and complete 2a.2b. Ask Ss to practice the conversations and make their own one.Use the patterns “Can we do?No, we can,t do sth in this place, but we can do it in that place”.Purpose of my designing;By practicing this kind of conversation, Ss will master the usages of important points better.Part 5 summary and homework Do some exercises to summarize the important sentence patterns. At last, tell Ss what todays homework is.Part 6.blackboard designingWords and expressions:fight: fight with.on time.arrive/be late for school/ class.Sentence patterns:Can we do.? We cant doDo Dont do Purpose of my designing: Present the important points clearly on the blackboard , and it can help the ss to recite it quickly without mistakes.Part7 Backwriting This part is about inperative sentences, its not difficult but a little boring, so I tried some ways to make my class lively, such as the usages of the multi-media, the photos, the stories, and set up some students activities, which can make students focus on the key notes of the part, and they are willing to take part in the activities. I start the class with some gentle music, which can make students be in a merry mood. In class , I show the learning target first, it make students master the main idea quickly. In this way can they master the difficult point easily. But there are also some disadvantages. First,during the class, I spend more time on the usage of the words and phrases than the listening practice. Second, I mean to master the key points by working in groups, but it is a good way for some top students to le
