八年级下册Unit 2 Reading Maybe you should learn to relax教学设计江西省上饶地区铅山三中 张晓华一、教学目标1、知识目标: 巩固情态动词should和could表示提出建议的用法,并能用书面形式给别人提出解决问题的方法。2、能力目标:通过不同的阅读方法的训练,让学生感知不同阅读策略及其作用,从而达到提升有效阅读能力的目的。3、情感态度:培养学生的独立性,使其自由发展,不要束缚孩子的成长。 4、文化目标:了解西方家长对待他们孩子的一些教育方式,并同时反思中国目前的教育状况。5、学习策略:发展自主学习和有效阅读的能力;积极运用所学英语进行交流,加强合作式学习,共同完成学习任务。二.学情分析:本节课是八年级下册第4单元的第5课时,此时的学生已经有了两个学期的初中英语基础,对英语普遍很感兴趣,好奇心强,求知欲胜,对刺激记忆手段多的知识记忆深刻,但由于八年级下册的学习压力更大了,学生的学习还是有着很大的不稳定性。恰巧本节课谈论的如何减轻压力的话题,因此学生喜于用英语表达,上课的兴致很高!三、教学重难点本课时的教学难点:asas possible, on the one hand, on the other hand, not until complain about doing sth compare with四、教学准备:本课所需教学课件及部分阅读任务的打印材料和词组卡片。五、教学步骤:1.导入。 利用小学生课外活动的视频导出after-school activities的话题.并让学生关注两个问题:What is the short movie about? What did they do in the short movie?2. Free talk视频结束后引出话题: Do you usually do these activities like them?继而进行Free talk:What do you usually do after school? What dont you usually do after school? Why do you like these after-school activities? Pleasant. Why dont you like those after-school activities? Unpleasant.从而引出Unit2 Reading Maybe you should learn to relax。Reading1. Before reading先检查家庭作业:Look up the news words in the dictionary. 完成文中生词的处理。任务一:Predict. 利用幻灯片给出标题,学生预测并完成句子。Say ,“Before we read the passage, prediction is important. It can make things easier. Now, lets look at the title. Would you please predict what we will read in this passage? You can talk with your partner.”(Check their answers).2. While reading 任务二:main idea.打乱顺序给出五段的中心意思。引导学生读每段的开头一二句,然后连线。T: Good! Now, please look at these sentences, A,B,C, D and E. They are the main ideas of the five paragraphs. When we are reading, if we dont have enough time, maybe we can only read the first one or two sentences to get the main idea. So now please open your books, read the first one or two sentences of each paragraphs, then match the Main idea If you like you can work with your partner . (Check their answers.)任务三:scanning.给出5个不完整的句子。让学生读题后快速阅读文章找到目标信息并完成句子。 T: Great! And also when we dont have enough time to need carefully and slowly, we can read the question first, and then scan the passage only for the information we need, so that we can save a lot of time. Now these read these incomplete sentences first, then scan the passage and complete the sentences.(Check their answers.)3.After reading1.趣味竞赛将课文中的重点词汇与句型编成题目,学生分组,以竞赛的方式巩固知识点。组内成员可以讨论再答题,但是有时间限制。赛后作简单评价。T: OK! Since we have learned so much about the passage, now lets have a competition. I want to divide you into two groups. What name do you want for your team? (Give them names). OK, we can see different numbers with different scores here. So if you choose some question and give the right answer, you will get that score. Otherwise you will lose it. you can work with your group mates. Do you understand? Ok, lets begin, now your turn please. Wish you good luck.(For about 15 minutes).任务四:Write a letter to Cathy TaylorT: From the competition I know all of you have understand the reading very well. Now lets think of a question: Are Cathy Taylors their children happy or upset everyday? Yes, they are so busy and tired that they have no time and freedom to do things by themselves. So its time for us to help them. .Please suppose you are Dr. Alice Green ,write a letter to Cathy Taylor. tell her what she should do with her children. please go (Ask a student to read her/his letter.)4.主题升华。T: Now lets discuss another question :What can we learn from the passage?让他们发表观点,different students have different ideas.引导学生找出文中的主题句:Parents should learn to give their kids a bit more time to themselves .On the one hand ,children need organized activities. On the other hand ,they also need time and freedom to relax. and they need time to do things by themselves5.拓展活动。以Are only children under too much pressure?为话题引出pressure is a serious problem in todays world. We should learn to relax.由此引出Groupwork : How to relax ourselves最后以一组本班学生课外活动的图片来结束本节课,以此为引子,让孩子们认识到学习和休息并存的意义最终升华:Better feeling ;Better study; Better study; Better life。6.
