She attended school in Lausanne, Switzerland for three years, before attending Dana Hall in Wellesley, Massachusetts for two years. In 1928, she began taking classes at Hollis College in Virginia. In 1935, Brown began working at the Bank Street Cooperative School for student teachers. Two years later, her writing career took off with the publication of When the Wind Blows. Over the course of fourteen years, Brown wrote over one hundred picture books for children. She had an idea that she want to write a simple book, just for children. And now, we can see from her work, she really did it. This book is about a little bunny and his mother. The little bunny keeps running away from his mother in an imaginative and imaginary game of verbal hide-and-seek; children will be profoundly comforted by this lovingly steadfast mother who finds her child every time.The book was first published in 1942 and never out of print, has indeed become a classic. It is written for children the words are simple but meaningful. Generations of readers have fallen in love with the story .the author wrote this book with all her emotion in it.
