The number of wild animals has become less and less in recent years.最近几年里,野生动物的数量逐渐减少。A number of 表示“许多”,是量词短语,中心词是这个短语所修饰的复数名词,所以做主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。Eg. A number of wild animals have been found in the forest.森林里发现了很多野生动物。2.They never cut up the noodles because the long noodles are a symbol of long life.他们从不把面条切断,因为长面是长寿的一个象征。Cut up: 切碎。Cut构成的搭配和短语比较多,先归纳如下:Cut sb. sth 为某人切某物Cut sth. into sth 把某物切成某物Cut down砍倒;消减,压缩Cut in插入,插话;插队,超车Cut off 切断,隔断,断绝Cut out 剪成,戒掉Do2c: After-readingHavestudentsreadthearticleagainandwrite the answers on the textbooks.
